About me

My first time interacting with TTRPGs was when I was 12. I remember the smell of the tucked away book shop selling second hand books, the display of AD&D 2e books on the shelf, and wondering what the heck Psionics was. It didn't take me long to get hooked on the lore and worlds of D&D, but it would be some time before I actually got to play! Living in a small town, and being a shy, odd kid didn't provide many opportunities to engage with the hobby (save by memorizing THAC0 tables!) until I was much older, but once I had a chance to engage in the hobby during 3rd edition D&D, I proved to be an insatiable player and, later, DM. With 20 years of experience and at least 15 of those GMing, I have seen editions come and go, seen the hobby rise in popularity, take some hits, and had the chance to experience other games beyond those under the D&D umbrella. Nowadays, and with a lot of understanding of how the myriad TTRPG game systems work, I find myself preferring more flexible systems, Cypher System and Pathfinder 2e being the top among them. But I am not afraid to look at other systems to see what they can add to my expanding repertoire of GM and Play experience. I enjoy games with lots of roleplay opportunities, and as a GM I strive to bring that to the table for my players. As a GM, I see my job as being able to facilitate fun at the table, and I try to keep an open dialogue with my players about what that entails. I keep an open mind to criticism, and try to improve the play experience not just for players, but for myself in the process.

GM Style

Emphasis on Roleplay, Using Character Voices. Lore Enriched Story/Plot (where appropriate), with opportunities to allow Player Agency to expand World Lore. Less Combat.
