About me
Hello! My name is Logan (he/him), and I've been playing D&D for the past 8 years. It started in middle school as a thing my friend dragged me into, and has grown to become my main outlet of creative passion! For me, this game has facilitated the growth of many meaningful friendships, amazing memories, and my own development as an actor and storyteller. Me as a GM: - Story first: I play D&D because I love stories and storytelling. In any of my games, you can expect an organically created, character driven story that will grow and change as your characters grow and change. By the end of a game, you should feel as if you've truly inhabited your character, and with them have worked to tell an amazing story with your fellow players and me. - Mood/Vibe: I believe that setting a strong mood is one of the best vehicles for storytelling. As such, I love incorporating music, ambiance, maps, and visual backgrounds into my games in order to make immersion just that much more rich! - Roleplay: I come from a comedy improv/theater background, so I absolutely love roleplay! I do voices, accents, sound effects, and will often try to physically embody whatever NPC/Villain I am playing. If you are in one of my games, I really encourage you to roleplay! If you feel at all insecure or inexperienced about your acting skills, that is totally ok! It is my job as the GM to make roleplay feel effortless and for you to be comfortable, so do whatever feels right! - Combat: I really enjoy 5e combat, and aim to make each combat encounter enjoyable. I've experienced first-hand what a slog 5e combat can be, so I've made it my mission for the combat of my games to be fun and interesting! - Most importantly, my games are FUN DRIVEN! Above all else, I want everyone at the table to have a good time, and everything that I do as a GM is to fulfill that. Materials: - Source Material: I mainly build homebrew settings to facilitate my games, but I actively draw on official and third-party 5e resources as needed when I run my games. I've run official modules before, but I have always preferred the freedom that comes with building my own setting and lore with my players. That being said, if you want to play a character with deep ties to official material, go for it! I love finding ways to tie in official source material to my own homebrew lore. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
GM Style
I GM story-driven campaigns, where your characters will be at the center. Combat, roleplay, setting, and the general mood will all feed into the grand narrative that we weave together! That being said, the most important thing is that the players are having fun, so whatever is best for the fun, is best for my games!
