About Lily
Hey, I'm Lily, I have been playing DnD for over a decade and dming for a bit less than that. First irl, and then online when the pandemic hit. It did lead to my longest campaign, which has lasted nearly 6 years. In general I love fantasy, most of which I absorbed through games. Dragon age, guild wars, and the elder scrolls are some favorites. My autism tends to mean I hyperfixate on certain things, as demonstrated by the Thousands of hours in these games. I used to play MtG, however I was always more interested in the lore than the actual game. I love worldbuilding and thinking about it. And this does reflect in my campaigns. I'm not very interested in running modules because one of the things I love most about dming is to exercise my creative muscles to build a living world out of nothing.

I started running games because...
I love worldbuilding, and one of the best ways to show them of is to build an adventure, grab some players and drop them in. works every time.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I value kindness and compassion. I tend to be drawn to darker media and subjects, and my goth look does help. Especially as a game master where my role is to oppose the players, which I will do with gleeful abundance. It all just gives of the impression of a dark and evil person, but that's not me.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Napping, or cooking, or playing video games. Listen, this one has autism and chronic fatigue. I tend to have a few things to focus on and do them intensely, then I nap.
How Lily runs games
I like to describe my GM style as weaving a web. My campaign and world are very interconnected. As the players go around in it, they are plucking threads, one by one, until they get the attention of the spider. I like to have a more sandbox feel, letting the players go on tangents or deep dives as they want. Especially later in the campaign as they come to understand the dangers and decide how to tackle it. Because, whatever they do, they'll be tripping over threads left and right. There will be a lot of gray morality and even options for tackling philosophy and discussion worldviews in roleplay. For combat I try to implement unique monster and mechanics, especially for the boss fights. These can be highly challenging and require understanding the mechanics introduced. Also these bosses will try to kill you.

My games focus on...
Roleplay, with a heavy focus on morality and philosophy. Even my big bads will often try to first see if they can sway you to their way of thinking, making you believe they are like a medium neutral, maybe even a small good.
Lily's ideal table
My games are a place to engage and understand the world and the characters. So players who are curious and like to introspect are a good fit.

I love it when a player
Takes the initiative. Not in a combat sense, but deciding what to do next, having a goal and path in mind. I love worldbuilding and seeing people carve their own section in the world is amazing. Of course i'll put some troubles in the path, but that's part of the game.
