About Lawful Cherry
If you're here for great stories told through a collaborative and immersive experience, I'm your man. My campaigns are full of cinematic twists and turns, modern and unforgettable villains, and some intense roleplay. I'm a reliable and professional storyteller, with over 20 years experience GMing. I love the immersion that Foundry provides, so you can expect better music / cooler maps / minis from my games. I've been running games for 20 years, and have recently fallen in love with the Shadowdark system. So risk & reward is very prominent at my table. Expect lots of rolls and dark corners to explore. What I don't tolerate: -Sexual content -Disrespect / adversarial attitude toward other players or myself. - Real world politics

I got started GMing...
After playing D&D with a group in a comic book shop on South Street, in Philly, when I was 14. It absolutely hooked me.
My favorite books are
Guards! Guards! - Terry Pratchett. I've got a weakness for his type of humor. The characters, the politics, and the world-building are all so frustrating and realistic. American Gods - Neil Gaiman A lovely, modern American Odyssey. Screw Gaiman, though. Do pirate this, if you have the chance.
My favorite system of all Time is
Shadowdark - by a landslide. Growing up, I was a huge fan of D&D 3e, and I feel like Shadowdark is a great maturation of that. Also, I do love creepy elements in games, and the grimdark aspect of this system lends itself well to that.
How Lawful Cherry runs games
Fear of the unknown motivates me, and I try to instill that into my players. My games often include mutated monsters lurking in the shadows, character-driven stories, and cinematic boss fights. I strongly encourage roleplaying - both in social and combat situations. I'm typically fair (i.e. ties going to the defender, rule of cool, etc), but no one is above death. Death is what keeps the tension going, and is to be both feared and respected. All that said, there's just something magical when all the players are invested in the game. I live for that, and I hope my players are as passionate as I am.

My favorite trope is...
1) A monster (or god) speaking through an ally / friend. 2) Friends to enemies. 3) Moral ambiguity until a big evil arrives.
My games focus on...
Having fun! I always try to make things work, within reason. And what I love about Shadowdark is that there's a roll for everything - but the dice may not be in your favor.
Lawful Cherry's ideal table
My ideal table is full of people who are invested in the game. Whether it's the story or the gameplay, I live for the little moments in games where you can see the excitement on a player's face as they try to sus out a problem.

I am for a vibe that's...
Engaged and relaxed at the table while your characters are in sheer panic. I laugh a lot, and I'm always excited about in-character decisions.
If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Spooky games. I love the feeling of uncertainty that comes with exploring a new dungeon, and I love pushing that uncertainty into horror. Random outcomes. Be they hilarious or devastating, I do love a good rollable table. It keeps us all on our feet and ensures the story is never the same.
My perfect party mix is
Thinkers, schemers, roleplayers, and tacticians.
