HARK! Well met, Adventurers! My name is Kurt Goodnight and I have been running D&D games for nearly a decade. I specialize in on-boarding new players. I think everyone should get to experience the joy of TTRPGs regardless of previous experience or familiarity. Beginning can be intimidating but that's where a knowledgeable DM comes in to make learning to play as fun as possible. At the same time, I am also no stranger to running for seasoned vets and thrill in trying to give the player who thinks they've seen it all a fresh and unique experience. I design the campaigns to match the needs of the players and am ready to adapt if need be. In my mind, we are creating this thing together. I have a background in classic literature (fantasy and otherwise) as well as improv and performance. I love to roleplay and will not shy away from character work. I always strive to ensure my table is an inclusive space where players of all walks of life feel comfortable, safe, and respected. I hope you'll consider granting me the honor of being your DM, along with my faithful Co-DM, Prospero the Cat.

GM Style

I would describe my DMing Style as benevolent and flexible. Different kinds of players want different kinds of games and I pride myself on being sensitive and amenable to that. I do not see myself as the enemy of my players, I see your enjoyment as my chief responsibility. That being said, I will gladly provide a fair but respectable challenge to those seeking it. I personally favor a style which I refer to as M.I.S.C. which stands for Mechanically Informed, Story Centric. The nitty gritty rules play an important role, but I consider it my job to use those tools behind the scenes to provide an immersive and rewarding story tailored around your characters. However, like I mentioned I strive for flexibility. I am delighted when the creativity of my players results in a story very different from the one I planned. The only thing I am strict about at the table is respect! I believe every individual playing (myself included) deserves to fell comfortable and respected and I will make it my business to make sure that's the case. If you have any HARD NO-NOs (stuff you by no means want in a story) feel free to share that information with me. I promise you that your inclinations and preclusions will be treated respectfully and in a non-judgmental way. My games are an all inclusive space where individuals of all walks of life are welcome to come and play this greatest of all games together. I work to keep the atmosphere at the table warm and joyful, even when slaying demons and zombies. The success of a D&D Campaign is measured in laughter.
