About Jordynn
Hi, I am Jordynn, I have been playing D&D for around 6 years, and started DMing 5 years ago. I mostly dm for some for some friends, and am hoping to bring the stories I end up writing to life with a table of people who will be able to enjoy them. I have a bit of a stutter, but I deal with it pretty quickly. My main goal is making sure people have fun while having fun myself, I am very open in communication, and I am learning to make battle maps, but that's been a bit of a crawl, but I am going to figure it out eventually!

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing because I took an interest in writing stories, and my friends encouraged me to put my ideas on paper, building worlds they love to explore in!
People are always surprised when I tell them
I'm not a fan of movies. I don't like sitting still, and tend to walk away. Also I lived with someone who just talks through movies my whole life, so I always end up doing it, and I know it's annoying for other.
When I'm not running games I'm...
When I'm not running games, I'm messing around on WPlace, experimenting in the kitchen, or heading to the library to sit in a quiet place and work on my games!
How Jordynn runs games
I see myself as a more roleplay focused GM, though I lack vocal inflection and confidence to do different voices, tone is carried heavily. I make pretty balanced combat encounters, making sure that they run smoothly and I tend to turn things in favor of the players, unless it's something plot related and meant to be a challenge. I like a more dark story line, something that dives into the parts of life that some people don't want to talk about, and my profile image is also something I'd likely use to for my campaigns to warn them "Hey this is a warning this session may get dark" and then I'd explain how the session is going to go into a less comfortable area, and have a discussion with people on if they are going to be okay with that. I do try to avoid power building as well, I plan with balance to the whole parties skills, and if I need to bump up a combat encounter because one player is more powerful than the rest, then there will end up being a discussion. I also will likely have something recording the sessions, just so I can keep track of things that were said and have a bit of a way to look back on a situation and see where I or another person was in the wrong.

My games focus on...
They're focused on a sense of balance. I keep things between the party and the enemies in a sense of balance in power. I make sure the game is something everyone can enjoy, while tackling some more uncomfortable subjects.
Rules are...
Defined by interpretation. Granted, there's a limit to it, obviously, if there is a written part that states for certain, but everyone can look at a rule and some would think "Okay, so what's the limit I can go to?" and that's where your interpretation comes in.
When it comes to voices
I focus more on tone, emotion, rather than changing it, because I can't really do too much with it, without being in either pain or pure discomfort, but I do explain who's talking in the moment.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you're into a flexible setting that can easily be molded and changed by your actions and inactions, while also having a good bit of lighthearted fun in-between, you're going to love my table.
I love it when a player
Can feel comfortable telling me in the moment they are uncomfortable, and ask for something to change, like Batman, I make contingencies in case you are uncomfortable with certain things being talked about or displayed, a rewind for comfort is more important than the scene itself.
I think metagaming...
Is strange. I fully encourage planning around what you know, in or out if you can explain how you know it in character, and how you are conveying the information to the party.
