About me

Hey there! I'm Jeye. An experienced and avid player of D&D 5th edition. With thousands of hours DM-ing and playing as a Player, I hope to provide an entertaining, fun game that'll get you immersed and care about the story told! I've run a few dozen games by now, mainly for a good friend group and even a few randoms from time to time. I've about 9000 hours on Roll20 before having recently transitioned over to FoundryVTT. I love creating stories that my players can immerse themselves in, something to really get them active and participating. From using their backstories for major plot points in ways they may not have expected, to openly talking to them about things they would want to see and experience. I devote a lot of time writing so the world may feel alive, and I also devote a lot of time to creating Homebrew Content, which I always make available for my players. In general, my experience with tabletop games has been positive, besides the occasional weird individual when DM-ing for random people or scheduling issues. The most fun for me is seeing the players interact a lot, and roleplay, getting attached to their characters and wanting to see adventures through to the end, or even creating dramatic, cool moments for themselves or others in the group!

GM Style

As a GM, there's nothing I love more than seeing the players immerse themselves into their characters and the world around them. Seeing how their actions and stories can influence the people around them. Though I do not believe exactly in 'main characters', I do believe that the group should be at the center of the story, no matter how unlikely it may be for the world. From becoming a brave group of adventurers, tasked with destroying an evil lich, to being trapped in the world of the eldritch, trying to find a way out and survive, saving those around themselves in the process. Or even as silly as being a group of students at a magical school or solving mysteries together. The world should revolve around the players, yet it should still be reasonable it can exist by itself too. For Combat, I prefer not to pull punches and help players use their intuition, creativity and skill to overcome challenges. Though at dramatic and cool moments, there's always a possibility to get a little bit of a 'helping hand', if it's something everyone would enjoy. For everything else, I also design a lot of encounters and monsters, NPC's by myself, choosing to create unique situations and challenges to fit the group, rather than using stat-blocks always. I also design a TON of Homebrew Content! So if you're interested in that, be sure that there'll be a lot of it to choose from. I even design things from scratch, to help players scratch that itch to play something unique to an idea they have.

If you like role play inclined campaigns, with fights that make sense, rather than being there for the sake of combat, you are in the right place. When there are fights, they will always be fair if you are meant to be there, and every hopeless situation will always have a way out, if you manage to find out how. Backstories are important, because he will use them to shape the events your characters will go through, and he will always reward good role play. You want to get price reductions on the shop? Haggle it. Want your cool moments? Earn them through actions rather than the chance of the dice. Expect to be put in harsh situations if you don't think things through. If the dices hate you for whatever reason, you can get leeway if you play your cards right. On a more subjective note, he's been our GM for 5 years now, and I played in 6 campaigns so far, each with their own unique theme. Those worlds, ranging from power fantasy to sci-fi, wild west and grimdark had an unforgettable story where choices mattered, and to top it all of, the flexibility we were offered regarding cool or emotional moments made it all worth it.

This DM tries to make each one of his players shine, he tries to give them special moments where, not just their characters but themselves, show their narrative potential and that they are part of the story too.

This GM is very skilled at making a setting come to life, through attention to details and descriptions, as well as fun and memorable NPCs that you meet multiple times and are affected by your actions and choices through the campaign. Sessions are more RP focused, with an average of 1 combat per session in addition to occasional puzzles and non-combat action sequences (like chases). He also encourages creativity both in game(creative solutions and plans often bypass skillchecks or are rewarded through other means) and at character creation (he is pretty lax when it comes to the rules of a setting or a class so you can build really interesting backstories and characters as long as they make some sense) as such usually he applies the rule of cool which leads to very fun moments.

Rem here. I was one of the individuals who had the privilege of playing two wonderful championships with Jeye as the group DM. By a stroke of luck and a friend's recommendation, I managed to stumble myself into the Jeye DM group for D&D. At that time, I was just a newbie. Until that point, I had zero experience with the world of D&D or roleplaying in general, but I decided to give it a try under Jeye's guidance and overwhelming understanding. When I was making mistakes at the start, a lot of mistakes. The combination of small moments of understanding, a well-written and assembled story, and world-building of a superb caliber rounded out my first experience in the world of D&D The story of my first champaign with him can be described as a wild ride, from moments of pure joy and expectation to traumatic events that changed us as players but the characters we played alongside us. Jeye's smart and interesting use of our characters' backstory was the highlight of it for me, but not just my own backstory, but all other players alongside me putting us in situations when we don't need to fight just for our own survival but also for our party members creating a lot of emotion and an experience I will never forget. I highly recommend Jeye as a DM for players who are new to D&D and want to experience a versatile professional. He is also an understanding DM to both new players and veterans alike.

I've been a player in his campaigns going on for about a year now, I've found him easy to get along with as well as being a competent DM in general. In the time I have spent as a player in his games I have seen him demonstrate well rounded narrative skills. Overall I have enjoyed my time with Jeye thus far, and feel as though his stories are easy to immerse oneself in.

My first DM. Pretty chill guy with a solid understanding of what makes a game truly enjoyable. His sessions are more roleplay-focused, but there’s always at least one combat encounter per session. It doesn’t matter what kind of game he’s setting up; easy, medium, or pain, every single game is a joy for different reasons. I’ve played a total of three campaigns with him: a classic D&D game, a City of Mist campaign, and a Steinhardt’s Guide campaign. I believe the first two campaigns can be enjoyed by almost anyone, so I’ll focus on the third one. During session 0, he clearly laid out the themes and tone of the world. He told us with big bold letters, that this campaign would be hard, and sometimes unfair. And geez, he wasn’t kidding. This game has been a constant fight for our lives, where the only way to survive is to avoid rash decisions and, in a sense, "cheat" the world. So far, 30+ PCs have died. So, dear reader, if this man tells you his game will be hard, trust him. It will be. If that seems overwhelming, totally understandable! You might want to try one of his more casual games first. As I said, I believe those can be enjoyed by almost anyone. Personally, I prefer those as a more casual player, but the more competitive folks are having the time of their lives in this latest campaign. So there’s joy to be found in both styles. I haven’t talked much about his storytelling, because I don’t think a short summary would do justice to the worlds we’ve been a part of. You’re in good hands there. He knows that a strong story needs solid narrative vehicles, so his worlds are full of vivid, well-characterized NPCs. At the same time, he leaves plenty of room for PC development, and will subtly steer the story to give player arcs their time to shine. As for lines and veils, all good here as well.
