About Jay Lost The Day

Hi, My name is John. I've been playing Ttrpg games for 20 years, and I have been Gming for 5 years. I began when our regular Dm at the time needed a break, and I decided why not give it a try. So I decided to do one of the dumbest things......and create a custom high fantasy campaign for 7 players with a fully home brewed story mixed with scp elements, custom abilities, and more. To say the least it was an undertaking, and has been exceptionally rewarding. I have been the full time Dm for going on 3 years solid since the end of our other game. I started playing 2nd edition when i was 17 and have loved the story telling, and fun that comes with this format ever since. I have played 2nd edition, 4e(briefly, it did not go well lol),5e , Werewolf the Apocalypse, Star Wars, Monster of the Week, and a couple others over the years. I have spent the last 8 years playing weekly with a group of people that i couldn't have been luckier to find. In that time we have built a large custom world full of life, lore, and so many possibilities.

How Jay Lost The Day runs games

I am a big fan of role play, and believe it always adds depth to the game, and opens up many different possibilities. I really enjoy story driven games with lots player interaction to help shape the way the story plays out. I do try to do voices for the characters but its like south park character voices at best. There is usually adult language within the games. Encounters can range from easy combat, high-stakes tactical, just simply talking, or running away depending on whats happening in the story. The combats also ranges between character level, and player skills. Players are encouraged to explore and interact with the world. I tend to have a very improv (yes....and) approach to Gming. So for everything that is already made players have the ability to shape brand new things in the world. I do fade to black on scenes that would be too rough, or risque. The games contain elements from fantasy, high-fantasy, sc-fi, horror, mystery, Scp stories, custom things my friends have made, and custom things I have made.....etc. I can use the 2014 rules and the 2024 rules for Dnd. As well as a custom set of homebrew rules. I also hope to be able to run other systems in the future.
