About Jabber
Greetings, my name's Jabber (online persona). I'm a twenty-three-year-old college graduate with an art degree, and I have a passion and love for storytelling. LoTr, The Hobbit, Narnia, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, Anime, Manga- I've consumed so much fantasy it's not even funny. The most significant aspect I have always taken from consuming that media is the story, which drove me into DnD as a whole. 2014 was when I really took a look at D&D as a whole. When I was at Books-A-Million with my mother, I convinced her to get me the Phandelver starter set, and from there, I never looked back. I fell in love with the game, and soon began meeting people who shared that joy. Eventually, I found myself behind the screen, running one-shots and crafting my own stories. When I got a job, buying books and commissioning art soon found their way into my life, followed by a plethora of Kickstarters. But my joy was seeing the players cheer, laugh, and cry as they explored the games I ran; it's what drives me to this day to run games. Now, here I am, wanting to bring what I can to the table as a professional GM, as a true testament to myself and what I have learned over the years. If you trust me with your time and character, it would be a great honor, and I will ensure you have the best time possible, feeling the same joy I do while running games.

I became a GM because
When I first saw D&D, I became hooked on telling my own stories, and soon it turned into an obsession that became my passion. The ability to weave a story into a beautiful tale, something that can be remembered and recalled for years, is what I genuinely have come to love and enjoy.
My favorite shows/movies are
Supernatural, Grimm, Tracker, Dr.Stone, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, The Mentalist, The Blacklist, One Piece, and about any genre of romance anime I can find.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing down ideas for new campaigns or story beats, getting addicted to a new video game, or binge-watching a TV show, = learning about a new TTRPG system, reading a book, etc. I am a nerd through and through with everything I do, adding to my story-writing abilities.
How Jabber runs games
When you sit down at my table, you can expect honesty, an interactive story, and rewarding moments for being a part of the tale. My goal as a Game Master is to make you the center stage actor, to give you the spotlight, and to weave a story you will remember for a lifetime. I take storytelling and character backstories very seriously. I don't want you to be an A-list actor, but I will make your character a part of the world. Even if it's a pre-written module, each character will have a place within the story, their own time to shine. Not only that, I will make sure you feel as though your choices have an impact. I can't say I'm the next Matt Mercer or Brennen Lee Mulligan, but I will strive to be a Game Master you can always rely on for a fun and memorable time.

My games focus on...
Storytelling is the main focus of my games. Every tale I write has some form of story involved, whether it be an epic saga or a minute folk tale; story is always a strong focus of my games. It is why I take great joy when I see my players take that same level of agency when creating their characters
Rules are...
I have a list of rules in my games, most of which are kept on a Google Doc for ease. But I keep a strong focus on making sure everyone has a good time and real-life problems are left at the door: no drama, no OOC fighting, and just several hours of enjoyment for everyone involved. That is how I roll
When it comes to voices
I can't say I am on Matt Mercer's level, but I do my best to try to make characters sound unique, and definitely give major characters/NPCs the spotlight for vocals. I want to ensure that my players can easily recall NPCs without much effort.
Jabber's ideal table
When you roll up (pun intended) to my table, expect a calm and chill atmosphere out of game, jokes, hijinks, etc. I don't keep too many rules, but the critical ones are for player enjoyment and party health. Real-world chaos has no place in an escape from reality. In-game, you'll have a variety of encounters that can be intense, emotional, or just downright chaotic, as the storytelling shines true. I use the rule of cool a lot, focusing on player agency and creativity more than strict guidelines, so if you enjoy telling a good story, making memorable character arcs, and finding some way to convince a lord that a fish is the rarest item in the world, you'll find that at my table. If you feel like that's your scene, then welcome aboard, we'll have a swell time for sure!

I love it when a player
Takes the wheel with character creation and really looks for a unique story to tell. Especially when it comes to in-game flavoring or use of spells/abilities, I love player ingenuity and character development, which is why I encourage thoughtful characters and more roleplay-focused games.
I think min/maxing...
Min/maxing for me is all about context. Are you doing it for storytelling/fun, or are you trying to 'beat' the game master? If it's the former, then it's completely fine with reasoning and a well-written character; however, if it's the latter, I feel it's in bad taste.
My table is not the place for...
Murder hobos, solo brooders (not solo moments, but the edge-lords, etc), non-roleplayers, I want to foster a story-themed game where violence is not always the answer, players think outside the box using character notes to help influence the scene, and work together/be a team to accomplish goals.
