About Sy Andi
I've been DMing for over 5 years and have been doing improv even longer! DND has long been my favorite game, ttrpg or otherwise. For the past few years I have DMed several homebrew campaigns, some of which are ongoing!

I became a GM because
I wanted to tell stories with a group! The creativity and improv are my favorite parts of dnd!
My favorite system of all Time is
DND 5e! It's been a classic for me for a long while. While it does have its problems, I find that they often lend themselves to more exciting games.
How Sy Andi runs games
I would say that my DMing style is "rule of cool" in favor of the players. If a player wants to do something, and it makes sense for them to do so, I see no reason why they can't. By far one of my favorite things as a DM (and as a player) is coming up with creative solutions to difficult problems! My favorite memories as a DM are the times where my players completely circumvented an encounter with creativity and cunning.

My favorite trope is...
a band of heroes team up to kill a god, JRPG style
My games focus on...
character focused stories. If you give me a novel's worth of backstory, i will do everything in my power to include as much of it as i can
Rules are...
guidelines! In my opinion, as long as everyone at the table agrees (and is consistent about the rulings) we can set whatever rules are the most fun!
Sy Andi's ideal table
As a DM, I tend to highlight comedy as well as dramatic tension. If you are familiar with "Just Roll With It" or "Dungeons and Daddies", then you have a pretty good idea of the vibe in my games.

I am for a vibe that's...
chill and welcoming! As long as you are respectful of everyone else, then you're welcome at my table :)
I love it when a player
completely flattens an encounter with a clever solution.
I think min/maxing...
is great! But ONLY when you are open about it, and as long as it doesn't come at the cost of the character. I've played a hexasorcadin before, I get the appeal. As long as the class comes after the character that's fine!
