I’ve been GMing for about six years, mostly online, and I love running story-first games. I spend a lot of time with Star Trek Adventures and Vampire: the Masquerade (5e), and my focus is always on character, tone, and choices that actually matter. My style is roleplay-forward but flexible. I enjoy creating memorable NPCs, giving them distinct voices and personalities, and building longer story arcs that grow over time. I like to keep things immersive, but there’s always room for humor and table banter—this is still a game, after all. I’m especially comfortable running games for new players. I enjoy helping people learn the system, find their footing, and ease into roleplay at their own pace, without pressure to “perform” or already know everything. Players often mention the NPCs, voices, and visual details as standout parts of my games. I put a lot of care into making the world feel alive and giving everyone the tools to engage confidently.

How Eric runs games

My games are immersive, character-focused, and collaborative. I like giving players room to explore, make meaningful choices, and shape the direction of the story rather than forcing them down a predetermined path. Roleplay is a big part of my games. I enjoy bringing NPCs to life, creating relationships and ongoing storylines, and letting earlier choices come back in ways that matter later. I use character voices, music, ambience, visuals, and other tools to help make the world feel alive without expecting anyone at the table to be a professional performer. I also like keeping games organized and moving. I prepare enough to give the world depth and consistency, but I am comfortable changing plans when players surprise me. Combat and mechanics matter, but I generally use them in service of the story rather than treating the game like a tactical puzzle that has to be solved perfectly. Most importantly, I want the table to feel relaxed and welcoming. We can take the story seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Expect dramatic moments, mysteries, memorable NPCs, bad decisions, plenty of laughs, and a GM who is always trying to make the next session better than the last.

I use the rules to keep things fair and fun, not to shut ideas down. I apply them consistently, but I’m always happy to hear a good player reasoning and figure things out together.
