About iCarus
I'm a recent entrant into the scene of TTRPGs, and have become engrossed in learning about various systems and playing/GMing them. Currently a Software Engineer, I found a natural penchant for designing, homebrewing, and analyzing TTRPG systems, often times taking inspiration from one system and incorporating small elements of it into another, though I also pride myself in providing a consistent, structured world and enforcing the world's rules in an appealing manner. I have currently completed two Pathfinder campaigns and multiple, smaller one-shots in Pathfinder and other systems, and ready to start bringing the experience that my friends love to a wider audience.

How iCarus runs games
As both a player and GM, I am highly tactically- and strategically-minded. As such, my campaigns often feature structured, well-designed combat that consistently provide the party a real tactical challenge, with a tangible risk of losing -- however, losing a fight does not lose you the war, and while there is no Retry Button, I love inventing stakes that go beyond the plain old TPK. Thanks to my coding experience, you can be assured of a relatively smooth automation process for game systems heavy on automation (such as LANCER or Pathfinder), making it easier to focus on the moment-to-moment gameplay. In terms of characterizing NPCs, this is a field I am actively improving on, especially when it comes to giving each and every NPC their distinct personality and flavor. However, rest assured that I am highly capable of thinking on my feet, and improvising beyond the beaten path.
