About Marc Summers
I am a long-term GM that has GMed games for over 35 years. I have a wide range of experience in 1st/2nd edition mix through 5E. I did not do much 4e as I did not like the system changes. I have also GMed Pathfinder, Amber, 7th sea 1st ed, Spy Craft, Shadowrun 4e & 5e. I usually run higher powered and fantasy-based games. Player characters are supposed to be heroes and central characters in the story.

I became a GM because
In truth it was my turn to do it for my friends, but I found I liked it more than I thought I would. I continued running about 50% of the stories through Hight School. After that I became more the forever GM.
My favorite system of all Time is
Is 7TH sea. I like the system because the mechanics can be used for most genera's.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Thinking about the last game or what will happen in the next. I have enjoyed gaming since I started playing.
How Marc Summers runs games
I will talk with players and see what they would like to play. I have run games that are high fantasy and magic to low magic. I have run high roleplay to high combat. No two games are alike. Each is unique and interesting. I always look forward to next the session.

I deal with rules issues by...
I will make an on the spot ruling. I will note the discrepancy and go back to look up everything later. If I made the right or wrong call I will let my players know and how we will handle it going forward.
Rules are...
are guild lines. I always look at rules this way. It is important to have a base guidelines that everyone uses. If any changes are needed will discuss any house rules before implementing them.
Marc Summers's ideal table
I shape my tables by using information gleaned from session 0. It is important that all players at the table are having fun and participating. I believe that the players are the heroes, but heroes do die. Taking certain actions my have harmful consequences. I try to include stuff from people's backgrounds. I am not always successful but I try.

I think metagaming...
Can destroy the game it is hard to separate sometimes, but it is so important that players do.
I think min/maxing...
Has its place and I expect it. It can help to have the min maxed fighter if the rest of the party is spell casters.
My perfect party mix is
my perfect party mix depends on what i am running. With D&D I like 5 players and 1 NPC. I find a NPC helps me steer the party if they get off track. Other games like Amber I hove tuns of NPC's to run so usually don't include them in the party.
