About GM Auger

I have been a tabletop wargamer and roleplayer since childhood, giving me decades of experience across a wide range of systems, settings, and styles of play. Even so, I still actively study the craft of GMing and game design in order to continue improving my games. I am a former British Army serviceman, and that background has given me a strong appreciation for grounded settings, believable stakes, and systems where preparation, teamwork, and decision-making matter. Games such as Twilight: 2000, Cyberpunk RED, Traveller, and Pathfinder 2E naturally appeal to me for those reasons. Whatever the genre, I enjoy campaigns with immersive worlds, meaningful choices, strong player agency, and stories that emerge naturally through play.

When I'm not running games I'm...

When I’m not running games, I’m usually studying GM advice and game design, tinkering with campaign ideas, painting miniatures, worldbuilding, or getting lost in sci-fi and military fiction. I’m also still an active player myself whenever time allows.

How GM Auger runs games

| > Do you enjoy games where success feels earned because failure was a real possibility? | > Do you enjoy worlds where your choices matter, where actions can shape the direction of the story and leave lasting consequences, for good or ill? | > Do you enjoy original long-form campaigns with grounded settings, memorable characters, and emotionally charged moments that help define the adventures that follow? | > Do you enjoy making decisions from your character’s perspective, even when those choices may not be mechanically optimal? | > Do you enjoy voice and video play as part of creating a more immersive and interactive table experience? If you answered “yes” to most of the above, then we will probably be a good fit for one another. If you are unsure, then perhaps the only real answer is to sit down at the table and find out. And if your answer is firmly “no,” then I genuinely wish you the best in finding the right table for your style of play. Different tables suit different people, and that is perfectly alright.

My games focus on...

Grounded, immersive campaigns where player choices matter, consequences feel believable, and stories emerge naturally through play. I enjoy long-form character driven games with meaningful risk, strong atmosphere, and worlds that react honestly to player actions.

GM Auger's ideal table

My ideal table is a cooperative and immersive one where players are invested not only in their own characters, but also in the world, the other players, and the story we are creating together. I enjoy groups that communicate well, stay engaged with the game, and are willing to approach situations from the perspective of their characters rather than purely from a mechanical or metagame standpoint. I value player agency highly, and I want players to feel comfortable making meaningful decisions, pursuing their own goals, and helping shape the direction of the campaign through their actions. I enjoy parties that work together, even when characters may disagree in-character from time to time. I appreciate players who enjoy atmosphere, long-form storytelling, grounded worlds, believable consequences, and moments of genuine tension, triumph, humour, or tragedy as they naturally arise through play. You do not need to be a voice actor, rules expert, or veteran roleplayer to fit in at my table. Enthusiasm, communication, reliability, and a willingness to engage with the game and fellow players matter far more to me. Above all else, I want the table to feel welcoming, collaborative, and enjoyable for everyone involved while still allowing the world and story to feel authentic and alive.

I love it when a player

I love it when a player becomes deeply invested in their character and the world around them, takes initiative, engages with other PCs, and makes meaningful choices driven by roleplay rather than simply chasing mechanical advantage.
