About Thomas "Woody" Wood

I started DMing for Adventurer's League while in college, found I loved DMing for new players, especially those who are new to roleplaying games in general. Inclusivity is very important to me, everyone deserves a fun and enjoyable experience playing at my table. I keep a couple of rules at heart for any campaign I run: The rulebook is only a guideline, the game should be fun for everyone.

How Thomas "Woody" Wood runs games

I do my best to have the players direct where the story goes, I love to run open-world homebrew settings where the options are virtually endless on just where the story goes, but I usually start a group with pre-written adventures so as not to overwhelm new players with too many possibilities. I do some character voices from time to time, but I am definitely no voice actor. I am fine with shifting my campaign style to suit that of my players, but without a requested style I do try to keep exploration, roleplay, and combat as even as possible. I don't really do much theatre of the mind, and do my best to have decent visuals for most scenes, and even make custom sounds for ambient noise.
