About Jonathan

I’ve been running D&D 5e for over 15 years, and I still love it as much as when I started. I’ve completed several full campaigns and currently have two campaigns running. I enjoy building living worlds and putting players in situations where their choices actually matter. My games lean more toward combat and story than heavy roleplay, but I always adapt to the table. I’m very comfortable improvising when players go off script, whether that means adjusting encounters, reacting to unexpected decisions, or creating moments on the fly that end up shaping the campaign. I work in the service industry, so I’m used to dealing with people, keeping things moving, and making sure everyone feels comfortable and heard. For now, I run D&D 5e only, but I’m open to learning other systems in the future. My goal is simple: run solid, fun sessions that players are excited to come back to.

I became a GM because

I became a DM for the same reason a lot of DMs do — my group wanted to try D&D, and nobody else wanted to run it, so I volunteered. I’ve been a forever DM ever since, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My favorite system of all Time is

Dungeons and Dragons 5e.

How Jonathan runs games

My games focus on sandbox worldbuilding, tactical combat, and story driven by player choices. I put a lot of work into creating living worlds that react to what the party does, rather than pushing a single fixed storyline. Combat is meaningful and often high-stakes, with an emphasis on positioning, smart decisions, and teamwork. Roleplay is present but light and natural. There’s no pressure to perform or stay in character all the time. I adapt to how each group plays and improvise heavily when things go off the rails. If you enjoy exploring a world, making impactful decisions, and tackling challenging fights without heavy RP expectations, you’ll feel right at home at my table.

I deal with rules issues by talking things through with my players and coming to a shared understanding. What matters most to me is that rulings feel fair and that everyone is having fun, rather than getting stuck on strict interpretations.

Jonathan's ideal table

My table is relaxed, welcoming, and fun, without being overly serious. We’re here to enjoy the game, laugh, and tell a cool story together, not to stress or argue over every little thing. The vibe is cooperative and easygoing, with plenty of room for jokes while still taking the adventure seriously when it matters. Players who fit best at my table enjoy team play, tactical combat, and exploring a living world, even if they’re not heavy roleplayers. New and experienced players are both welcome, as long as you’re respectful, open-minded, and here to have a good time. If you like a balanced mix of strategy, story, and a chill atmosphere, you’ll fit right in.

I love it when a player

When a player goes off the rails or comes up with a solution I didn’t plan for. Improvisation and unexpected ideas are often what lead to the most memorable moments at the table.

My table is not the place for...

My table is not the place for aggressive players, PvP-focused play, or characters designed to disrupt the group. I expect cooperative play, mutual respect, and characters who want to be part of a team.
