About me
My primary goal is to make sure everyone is having a great time while they game. I've been playing RPGs since 1979 and GMing since 1982, when I was a mere 10 years old. Hopefully, I've come a long way since then. Trained as a lawyer, then as an actor, and finally as a teacher, so I have a collection of skills that are ideal for a GM: a sense of fairness, a love of shared storytelling and the ability to guide gamers of all levels of experience through whatever system we have decided upon. Used to be my priority was narrative games with an overarching plotline, but lately I've returned to my roots - Old School - with a newfound respect for made those early systems tick. My games will be player-driven and entertainingly lethal. Probably. (I mean, you never know your luck!)
GM Style
Join my table if you want to pit yourself against the challenge of adventure in the old-school style. Some of my games will be short adventures for newcomers to this style of play; others will be longer, open-ended campaigns which players can drop in and out of as they please. These will be 'Old School' player-led, exploratory games, which enables players to dip in and out of the story more easily. I use Foundry not for its bells and whistles, but for the ease of use; I do not want to plan my games so intricately that they run like a CRPG; most of what we do will be true 'theatre of the mind' without any pretentions - it's just the most straightforward way to run a game where the players can go in any direction they choose and do things the GM didn't expect or even foresee. I plan to use Google Meet so that we can all see each other and at least recreate the semblance of being round a table.
