About Jack Smith
Good morning, or rather good-day to you! ☕I'm Jack, a field archaeologist from the United Kingdom who's been playing TTRPGs for roughly eight years now: starting on Roll 20 as a player in a D&D5e game, to now where I'm currently GMing a Pathfinder 2e Kingmaker game for a close group of friends! 🎲I want to allow others who have that desire to play a game, like Pathfinder 2e, to be able to! GMing can be intimidating for a lot of folks, so allow me to help; I'll take the reins and help steer the cart - and, if you'd be so kind, allow me to take you into the world of Golarion! In the future, I'd love to run games for other systems like Cyberpunk Red, Hunter: The Reckoning, and Warhammer Fantasy & 40k. 🎨🖌️I want to provide people with a creative outlet, and a safe space, to experience and thrive in a fantasy world that truly allows for infinite amounts of personal, and creative, expression.

How Jack Smith runs games
What do you look for in your game? I've been roleplaying for longer than I've been GMing and have a deep, burning love for all things interactable - to allow for a world to feel organic, I enjoy when players interact with and explore their choices; whilst still remaining conscious of certain tabletop restrictions 🗺️ 💘Emotional conversations and moving moments, then to top it all off have combat that's to match - entering the battlefield and knowing that it'll be your wits, brawn, and magic that saves the day ⚔️ Battles should be visceral, but not a punishment; tales are told of both the heroes who vanquished the Stag Lord through the ol' "Front door", yet also of the Heroes who snuck in, carousing with the fearsome bandits, only to poison their mead and not letting a drop of blood get drawn! With me as your GM, you can expect to find your experience tailored closer to what you desire yet with an encouraging voice on your shoulder; ready to allow players to step out of their comfort zone and fully embrace the role.

I once ran a session...
... that lasted eight hours; starting from 19:30 GMT and lasting until almost 04:00 in the morning. It was the first session of a new campaign, and when I thought the end time would be they all insisted we keep playing. It was one of my proudest moments!
My favorite trope is...
The reluctant "Blank" - I find that the most interesting characters are often the ones who find themselves unwittingly in a role that they either weren't prepared for, or don't want.
When it comes to voices
You're going to get some variation of British RP I'm afraid! Though I'm sure there'll be a smattering of others.
Jack Smith's ideal table
🎲My table is a digital one, chiefly using Foundry Virtual Tabletop, to allow for remote access to the server. I enjoy running games for any experience level, as long as folks are happy to listen and learn because I will be too! If everyone's enjoying themselves, and can come away from a session feeling like they had a good time or are looking forward to the next one, then that's the vibe I'd like to capture. Those with a desire to roleplay, or handle combat tactically, will find a place at my table!

I love it when a player
... tells me, "I've read the Player's Guide!"
I think it's a red flag when players...
.. "it's what my character would do." when used as an excuse to inflict PvP on another player, either through action or inaction. We're a party! A team! Unless it's agreed upon before, then this isn't the place for independents who refuse to work together.
My perfect party mix is
Roleplayers who enjoy reading the books and the lore as much as I do, or who know little but want to experience it through the lens of the campaign! Tactical thinkers who want to be challenged, tackling encounters that could risk their very lives.
