About Nathan

Hi, I'm Nathan. I've been running my own Dungeons and Dragons campaign for three years now, and 5 years of some very packed player experience. I've been looking to expand and find other great players and play even greater games. My games are open to anyone and everyone. So long as they are open-minded and good people. Especially to members of the queer community as well as new players. I have brought many people into the hobby, and I'm more than happy to bring you and your friends in. I love TTRPGs, and there is no end that will stop me from dedicating myself to making an enjoyable game for you and the table. I maintain my own wikis for each system and world to keep a cohesive history throughout the game. I have (and will) spend hours making tabletop aids for ease of gameplay and craft my own maps and terrain to make an immersive and visually stunning experience. I am available for in-person sessions if you are in my region. (feel free to send me a DM if that is of interest to you)

I became a GM because

I got the Dungeon Master's Guide instead of the Player's Handbook and went "Whelp, gotta DM now" Also, I'm evil

My favorite system of all Time is

FishBlade RPG..... I love FishBlade........

When I'm not running games I'm...

Playing video games at 5am, much to my detriment. As one of my players, you might also be up at that time and want to shoot me a question for "when I awake in the morning." But no, I'll answer it then and there at 5am.

How Nathan runs games

I love my drama, I love my gritty fantasy, and I love when the plot and the bells and whistles come together and you audibly go "Oh no..." I tend to run games with escalating tension and ever-increasing odds. I highly endorse high roleplay, in-depth character backgrounds, and expansive worldbuilding. I will in fact, read your 92-page background, and it will come into play. For better or for worse teehee. Roleplaying aside, Combat is one of my specialties, and I'm always brainstorming unique and exciting encounters. I have an expansive and healthy (arguably obsessive) background with strategy games (XCOM, Starsector, Rimworld, Civilization) and RPGs (Elder Scrolls, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Final Fantasy) that continuously inspire my TTRPG game design. I won't be using those standard statblocks that come with the Monster Manual; I'm going to make it fun and spice things up. So get ready for the new and exciting. And from my strategy experience, I know how important it is to have the bad guys be bad. I don't throw my punches, I don't fudge dice; they are going to be worthy adversaries that challenge players. Of course, that doesn't mean they will be unfair. I heartily spend most of my combat planning ensuring combats are balanced and fair for the party.

I prep by

Extensively plotting out key events and encounters with my own (personal) wiki for my campaigns.... and then procrastinate the actual session plans and crack out all the details in a horrific mad dash right before the session starts. And it all just works, and that's showbiz baby.

My games focus on...

You! Or rather, every player at the table. I don't like running "side character PCs" that "just exist" within my world. No! its about the story YOU and your character partake in, and everything is in the context of you. And I want to see the lows you will fall, and the great heights YOU will reach.

Rules are...

so so so so so so so so important. We all come together to play one game in total agreement of the rules and we will live by those rules and die by those rules. Without them, we are lost, unguided souls in a tensionless game with no direction. The best games are when we all know them perfectly.

Nathan's ideal table

Above all, I want dedicated players who want to be here and contribute and have fun.
