About Ben the Traveler
Hello! I'm Ben, and I've been running RPG games for 20 years. I'm a forever-GM from way back, and above all else, I'm here for a good story. I am 36 years old, and I have worked professionally as an MMA fighter/coach, a creative writer, a technical salesperson, and a lumberjack. I have lived independently in 3 countries (US, France, and Thailand), and I bring a unique background and set of perspectives to every game I'm a part of. I love running RPG games because it gives me a chance to set other people up to shine. I'd love to be a part of a story that we will help each other create! I'm most experienced with D&D 5e, Pathfinder 1e and 2e, but I'd be happy to run any system you give me time to prepare for. I look forward to adventuring with you!

How Ben the Traveler runs games
For me, the characters make the story, and so my job as a GM is to create compelling, well-voiced characters with complete identities. I like a little goofiness, but I tend toward the more serious/challenging/darker themes, because I think it helps get people more invested in their own characters, and the NPCs. My favorite type of RPGing is long-term RPGing, but I can have a lot of fun with a one-shot if everyone has the right attitude. For the best experience in one of my games, I look for players who really want to get into the story, who are willing to pay attention, and challenge their own expectations.
