About Envision

I've been playing roleplaying games off and on since the turn of the millennium and have basically taken that forever DM spot among friends. I have extensive experience with DnD 3.5 and 5e (2014). I have moderate experience and am learning and falling in love with Draw Steel. I'd also love for a chance to learn and play Starfinder (futuristic space) and All Flesh Must Be Eaten (post-apocalyptic zombies).

I started running games because...

I was the only one willing. I am the forever DM of my first group and I keep it as a badge of honor.

My favorite books are

The Drizzt Series, The Bobiverse series, He Who Fights With Monsters, and recently Dungeon Crawler Carl.

My favorite system of all Time is

3.5 DnD. It was my first love.

How Envision runs games

My games focus on strong character-driven roleplay, meaningful choices, and cinematic encounters. I enjoy building worlds that react to the players, where backstories matter, relationships develop naturally, and decisions can shape entire regions or campaigns. Players can expect a mix of exploration, mystery, humor, emotional moments, and high-stakes combat. I like tactical battles with memorable enemies, evolving objectives, and environments that matter, but combat is never the only solution. Clever plans, diplomacy, and creative use of abilities are always encouraged. I also love long-term storytelling. Small details may return sessions later, NPCs remember how they were treated, and character choices can create allies, rivals, consequences, and unexpected opportunities. My goal is to create a collaborative game where every character has a chance to shine and the party’s story feels truly their own.

My games focus on...

The Characters. I like my players to feel like they are the main characters of a movie.

Envision's ideal table

I like new players. New players always have a fresh look on things that maybe some of us older players either overlook or take for granted. I think I missed my calling as a school teacher so now I am making it up by teaching roleplaying tabletop games.

I think min/maxing...

is fun for some but definitely not required at my table. A story is better when there are stumbles, falls, failures. It's always more interesting than just winning.
