About Dungeon Loaf
Hello Brave Adventurers! I'm the Dungeon Loaf (also called Bott), a DM with over 7 years of experience running D&D 5e. Now I'm hoping to put my experience to good use by running games for others beyond my table. Player fun and comfort are my main concerns. I primarily run Premade Adventurers, but make sure to change them as needed to fit the groups I run them for. I also employ a number of homebrew rule changes to help keep things balanced. That said, I do have plans to branch out into Homebrew Adventures once I have all of the needed resources pulled together. I hope to weave all kinds of wonderful tales with you through this weird little math rock game I love so much. New Players and LGBTQ+ are always welcomed.

I became a GM because
I couldn't find a DM when I started. I joined a gaming club in college and wanted to finally find people to play D&D with. The only problem was that no one had experience running the game or wanted to become the DM. So, I took up the role and learned as we went. I still DM for that same group.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
D&D 5e, Vagabond, and Cypher. I have extensive experience with 5e, but I'm still dipping my toes into the other two systems and hope to run games for them as soon as I am confident in my ability to use them.
My favorite system of all Time is
Dungeon & Dragons 5e. It is the one I am most familiar with and enjoy altering with my own material.
How Dungeon Loaf runs games
A balanced mixture of Roleplay and Combat with NPC voices to keep things fun. Homebrew is allowed upon review with the understanding that I am allowed to change it as we go if issues arise. There are also a number of homebrew rules I make use of in every game. I always host a Free Session Zero to discuss character creation, player expectations, what to expect from the adventure, and player lines. While I offer scheduled games here on Startplaying, I am also available to run D&D games (official or otherwise) on request if I don't already offer them. Feel free to message me if you are interested.

My games focus on...
Character Agency and Player Enjoyment. I want the players to have an impact in game while also enjoying themselves out of game.
Rules are...
Made to be broken. While I will try to stick to them somewhat closely and keep track of rulings, there are just some things that the rules can't account for. So, it's best to ignore them when they would get in the way of player fun without breaking the game in two.
When it comes to voices
I'm pretty good. I'm no Mercer, no one is, but I do my best and I have gotten quite decent.
Dungeon Loaf's ideal table
I try to keep a welcoming and friendly vibe at the table. I want everyone who comes to play at my table to enjoy themselves. My table is a place where we can make jokes, have heartfelt roleplay, and serious in-game discussions. I'm welcome to all kinds of players who are willing to have a good time with me. New or experienced, timid or boisterous, everyone is welcomed and will get their time to shine.

I love it when a player
asks me to do something outside the norm. Wanna use Fire Bolt to melt a window lock? Sure, roll an Arcana Check. Wanna cast Shillelagh on an unconscious gnome? Pick up that gnome and go swinging. Wanna break the Boss's weapon? I'll let you try it if you give me a Heroic Inspiration.
My table is not the place for...
Bigotry, harassment, or racism. Doesn't matter what it is, I won't tolerate that kind of behavior. We're all people deserving of love.
