About me

Greetings! I am Dunein, well that is my handle that I have gone by for along time on online gaming and my first D&D Character, a Dwarf Paladin of Tyr. However, my name is Henry and I truly enjoy the game of Dungeons and Dragons. It is what I do in my free time and I have expanded this hobby to something I really enjoy and love. I enjoy creating things, art, game maps, characters, but most of all a story that what starts with a group of strangers sitting down at a computer or in person and learning about the story they want to weave together to create a spark of fun. About who I am, I picked D&D 5E up after I moved to a new city and joined a random group that became my friends. I was hooked I bought the players hand book and after a bit I knew I wanted to run my own game. So I started and now I have been running games now for the past 4 years, both in person and online. From the start I always wanted to run my own setting and world and I have developed one, created the world of "Wind Tales" a place that many an adventuring group can start from the same place and create there own legends. Each group and player all have a place in my world for a long time after they set foot here and make their mark. You might even encounter a few along the way. Play Style: - "The Rule of Cool" I do in fact play by this, if you want to do something awesome and impactful to the story. I will do my best to make that happen. However it should be balanced in the world and equitable to all the players at the the table. - Game Session length: most games session will be three to four hours in length, closer to the three hours. I will communicate if a game session is expected to be longer than usual. - Long Term group vs one shot; if we are playing a one shot typically I will have pre-made characters and allow everyone to pick based on a roll off for who goes first. If we looking for a longer term game, we will hold a session 0. - Session 0: we discuss the campaign setting, group goals, and create our characters together, we will roll for our ability scores. - The typical long term group play will be a weekly game, after we have establish the group 3 to 6 players. most likely a week day night. Table Rules: I do hold a few table rules for myself and the players who would like to be a part part of this collaborative story telling experience. 1. Respect for all, I have an expectation for any individual to have understanding and willingness to to learn about each other and the adventurer who joins our table. This is a place to have fun and tell a story with others. I want you all to have a great time and I encourage for everyone who joins us to do so as well. 2. No Go areas: anything harmful to do with children. I will not roleplay anything sexual of infer any sexual situations. All players have the right to set any additional areas as well as part of the session 0. All one shots will be "PG-13" in content. 3. Meta Gamming: please do not, examples looking up monster stat blocks. 4. Dice Rolls: Virtually or in person you choice, I personally will by rolling my own physical dice, I enjoy it and allow others to do so, be honest with your rolls. Cheating on dice rolls for a TTRPG is totally lame. 5. Have fun, and please do not limit other funs, share the spot light. At times there may be times it is one players time to shine and we should all respect their time to own that role playing moment. I am excited to play with you, and I want to know your story, this world is yours to form and build and cerate with others, lets have some fun and roll some dice!

GM Style

I describe myself as a flexible GM, if the group wants to not fight monsters and is more interested in setting up a business in a town, well great lets play that! Don't let the details bog us down, I do like to keep things moving, there are times that the discussion around how many cats does it take to pull a wagon of cheese, just become boring. The answer is 42, in most cases based on the average size of the cats the gravity on the material plane. Roleplay, is fun, I will try horribly to do some voices and I will also make sure to have some one liners ready for the bad dudes. I encourage my players to do whatever is comfortable for them. Roleplaying also goes back to the spotlight rule, where we everyone should have a chance to share the spotlight. Combat, I will alter away from the rules depending on the party, the length of combat, and the desire of how much combat everyone wants in their game sessions. Most of all, I do play by the rule of cool, and will do my best to keep things grounded.
