About DeadGators
20 years playing ttrpgs, 18 GMing; 5 glyph PFS GM, former Paizo Org Play Venture-Officer Former scientist bringing nature to the tabletop at www.druidgmdesigns.com I've only run home campaigns for friends until now. Decided to try out hosting them on here since my disability limits the type of job and workload I can sustain. I prefer to run games that are a mix of roleplaying and rollplaying.

How DeadGators runs games
Mix of roleplaying and rollplaying. Some character voices and accents. Curated soundtracks. Cultivating shared storytelling. Where relevant, I bring in my real-world knowledge of earth and life sciences.

I am for a vibe that's...
cooperative shared storytelling sprinkled with good, tactical battles/skill challenges that encourage adept use of character mechanics.
I love it when a player
feels safe enough to tackle issues they're experiencing or observing through their character's development (so long as it's not making other participants uncomfortable or destabilizing the game)
I think metagaming...
usually creates unfairness and does not honor the spirit of the game. But there are sometimes instances where it's okay (e.g., explicitly spelling out the hidden mechanics of a challenge because a player is having a bad brain day and having trouble thinking in character).
