About Shawn S.
I began actively playing and GM-ing with 1st Edition D&D, but then was no longer able to play around the time 2nd Edition came out. I returned shortly after the release of 5th Edition and have been playing, GM-ing and mentoring since. I'm currently running Call of the Netherdeep for a local game store. I specialize in new players, mentoring and teaching.

How Shawn S. runs games
My approach to D&D is less as a game and more as collaborative storytelling. I use a mix of exploration, roleplay and encounters to help guide a story that we are telling together. Interesting characters, story development and everyone having fun are the most important elements for me. I may briefly do voices for flavor, but will just as often describe information imparted by NPCs. I don't do horror, gore or political intrigue in my games. Nor do I allow characters who maliciously harm other party members.
