About Ikarus
G'day his, hers, theirs and all others inbetween welcome! Thank you for your time today. Name's Ikarus (He/Him). A homebrew advocate, TTRPG fanatic and loud mouth extrovert. I know what you are thinking, 26 seems a little young to be calling yourself a Veteran DM. But with over 10 years of experience dungeon mastering since the inception of 5th edition, I have a plethora of practice writing, running and playing the game. A destined forever DM from day dot. In our adventures I aim to create opportunities for: - Intense bouts of combat. - Dynamic integration towards character focused story beats. - Emotional roleplay between not only players but npcs. - Fun and creative options. - And most importantly a ton of laughter! I support all walks of life, cultures, communities, sexualities and beliefs. I strongly advocate that TTRPGS is a place for everyone! Discrimination, Intolerance and Bullying will not be tolerated! So please if you are willing to delve deep with me and adapt to my way of speech, grab your bag of holding and YIP YIP!

How Ikarus runs games
The birth of my playstyle had been molded early on. Influenced by the content I consumed. The likes of Brennan Lee Mulligan, Ivan Van Norman, Mathew Mercer, Matthew Colville, and Steven Lumpkin, helped my understanding of what necessities a DM needs to take when narrating a campaign. Many important influences that shaped my idea of storytelling come from our world’s natural, ancient and modern history including the diverse array of myths and legends from a multitude of cultures. I find player-focused storytelling and an open display of creative liberty, grounded in a level of realism, helps postulate a sense of wonder and excitement for the players. Engaging in my campaigns will feel fresh and unique. Your ideas are valued and if you have something that fits within the theme of our story, then gosh darn it I'm going to put it into our story. I am open to novice and veteran players who are willing to learn a new; simple yet innovative rule set that assists in fulfilling a rounded story. Players who are patient and kind to their fellow adventurers are always welcome in my circles.
