About Dean
Hello there! I'm Dean. I've been playing D&D and tabletop games for the last 10 years or so and DMing for about 7 of them. I started hosting and DMing online since just before this whole Covid stuff started. I started small with just family and a few friends but grew over time to play with people all over the world. Since then, I have become a fan of all the things playing online brings to the table, pun intended. It's weird to admit this in a place where lots of people can see it but I have a condition called aphantasia which makes it difficult for me to picture things the same as everyone else does. For this reason, my DM style tends to focus on high detail maps, pictures, and a lot of things you can physically see or hear. Most of the people I have played with and DM'ed for are usually a fan of the graphic style of play. I understand it's not for everyone, which is why I usually offer a "first session is free" option to any type of game that has a monetary cost. I also tend to be very laid back and chill about playing. My goal after all is said and done is to make sure that you (the player) has fun. If that's achieved, everything else is optional. Most of the games usually go by a rule of cool style, which is also why I usually run the Dungeon and Dragon's 5th edition rule set. It allows for a lot of customization for players and the DM. With all that being said, I hope to see you in game!

How Dean runs games
My DM'ing style tends to revolve a lot around the combat and roleplay pillars of TTRPGs. The baddies use their heads and fight like creatures would in their place. Some of them think tactically, some just want to charge at the heroes in a blaze of glory! I also enjoy and feature the roleplay aspect of the game. I am not a very good voice actor but the NPCs you encounter should act and behave like you might expect them to. Although this being a fantasy game (D&D), there is always room for the more fantastical elements. Along with some crunchy combat and roleplay, I like to use a lot of physical mediums in the game. Digitally, this usually equates to music, sound effects, graphical effects, and high detail maps.
