About DM Aria
Heya! I'm Blu! I am a queer, trans, neurodivergent aspiring game designer. I am pursuing a degree in music composition and filmography! While Dungeons & Dragons is my main strength and has been for a little over 5 years now, I am working to learn more systems to bring into my repertoire here. Outside of playing TTRPGs, my hobbies include playing video games, reading, writing, and watching movies (feel free to ask my favorites of any of those, lol). If you're not interested in one of the games I might be running, you can book me on almost any weekend (I cannot do Sundays at the moment) from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM US-EST. Profile image was commissioned from @chaooozz on Tumblr.

I became a GM because
Well, I was introduced to D&D through a game my friend ran (Lost Mine of Phandelver, iirc?). After that, the friend in question wanted to step down as the DM and I volunteered as the new one. I've held that role since.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Usually thinking about or prepping for my games. When I'm not actively prepping, I'm generally still on the look-out for new ideas and things to add to my games. After all, one can always be improving!
How DM Aria runs games
I love to run games that range from tension-building, sweat-inducing horror to epic, high-stakes high fantasy. But no matter the tone or genre, story is front and center, and I will always try to include character backstory as best I can. Combat does happen, but usually that ranges from every 2-3 sessions for most games I run. For what you'll find from session to session, I always love to give detailed descriptions of environments, NPCs, and the scene in general. I like to stick to the rules most of the time, but the Rule of Cool will always supersede. Although the tone of most of my games is serious, that doesn't mean there won't be jokes and lightheartedness. After all, to experience the true depths of darkness, one must experience the peaks of light as well. I am quite firmly anti-generative AI. None of my games will knowingly use any, nor do I allow my players to either.
