About Chris (Deus Ex Talis)
Hello! My name is Chris (any pronouns). I’ve been running games since 2018 and am excited to bring my experience and passion to a wider audience! My goal as your DM is to create a world that engages and excites you to play in it. I tailor each of my games specifically to my players and am a big fan of 1x1 chats with my players to talk about what it is that YOU’RE excited about in game. I make it my personal mission to ensure my table is a safe, inclusive space for everyone. RPG’s can be a deeply personal and revelatory experience for us to explore ourselves and the people around us. Safety is always my number one priority at the table. While my expertise is in running D&D5e, my background is in acting, screenwriting and improvisation, so if you have any other systems you would be interested in playing, please let me know. I am always looking for new experiences. A bit about me: -I am married with two children. My wife is my longest standing player and my #1 collaborator on my tables behind the scenes. My kids are budding heroes in their own right. Ask me about my two cats as well! -I have prior experience in radio broadcast and voice acting. I try to ensure my NPC’s have unique and interesting expressions as a result. -I run my games in a shed out of the woods. The service is surprisingly responsive

How Chris (Deus Ex Talis) runs games
As a DM, I focus on three primary areas: - Creating an engaging and dynamic narrative for my players. Campaigns and storylines will be tailored to highlight and focus on player backstories and desires. NPC’s are fully voiced and in character RP is common. I also have chats with players throughout the story to discuss their feedback for the campaign as a whole and their arc in specific. I reward players for being interested in their characters. - Maintaining a responsive and enjoyable gameplay experience. I run games on FoundryVTT and have put significant effort into ensuring user interfaces are simple and pleasant to use. Maps are dynamic with elements of player interactivity and other more gamified elements included. Session 0 will include a tour of FoundryVTT to help you familiarize yourself - Ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable experience. I respond to all discord messages within 12 hours. I take player comfort and security very seriously. Safeguards include a consent in gaming form in session 0, a flag system for pausing and addressing triggers in game, frequent player check-in’s related to potential stressful or triggering elements and a tested, three-strike system for conflict resolution above table. Most of all, however, my priority is ensuring that you have fun. You are giving up our free time, let alone money, to do this. I want to give you an experience worth remembering.
