About Dessa
Hello there, I'm Dessa, your friendly neighbourhood Trans Woman Game Master! What do I bring to the table? Well over a decade of experience running TTRPGs, having first jumped into this little obsession back with 3rd edition DnD. Since then, while DnD has remained my go-to system (I could never leave Eberron behind), I've branched out into a wide array of games that I feel have only strengthened my skills. Some of my favourites are Blades in the Dark, anything Powered by the Apocalypse, Fabula Ultima, and Pathfinder 2e! I have a real love for anything dark fantasy, gothic horror, and dungeon punk. Dramatic villains are the absolute favorite though. Y’know, flirty queer vampires who are as deadly as they are beautiful. I should also mention that I enjoy injecting a queer flair into most of my games, and that also means making sure that my table is a safe and comfortable places for anyone within the LGBTQ+ community, which I’ve been told I’m doing a great job at! The short stories of Conan the Barbarian introduced me to the sword and sorcery genre. The Black Company gave me a love of dark fantasy. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is a classic I will never forget for its brilliant gothic horror. Lord of the Rings was my start into reading fantasy.
My favorite system of all Time is
Blades in the Dark. This system introduced me to a lot of great concepts that I continue to use to this day, no matter the system I'm running. Reading and running Blades actually helped me to move my mindset away from the mechanically focused DnD to a more narratively focused style.

Dessa's ideal table
My table is a relaxed, supportive, and welcoming space. You can expect patience when learning the rules and encouragement to explore your character and the narrative space you've been given. At times the vibe can be serious as players get sucked into dramatic moments filled with moral quandaries, and sometimes it will be light-hearted with plenty of jokes shared. If you want to fit it be friendly, respectful, but most of all be yourself and enjoy!
