About Deceitful Charlie
Hi, everyone, I'm Charlie! I've been a GM for almost 10 years and have run campaigns in 3.5e, 4e, 5e, 5.24e, Savage Worlds, Levelup A5e, Mutants and Masterminds, and Star Wars Saga Edition. My style focuses on roleplay and intrigue, but I pride myself on running well-paced combat where combatants make realistic choices based on the creature, their environment, and the events surrounding them. I'm very familiar with virtual tabletops, such as Roll20, Foundry, and Fantasy Grounds, so I can guide newcomers and troubleshoot pretty much any problem that may occur. For visuals, I utilize descriptive language to augment battle maps, character tokens, and backgrounds. How Deceitful Charlie runs games
My touchstones are role-playing, world-building, and global intrigue. I also run efficient, realistic combat encounters. I've got a few accents of varying quality up my sleeve, but I always try to identify who is speaking before I start roleplaying as a non-player character. I have run several campaigns in 5e from level 1 to 20, ensuring that the stakes are appropriate to the player character level. My players appreciate that I provide them with slice-of-life encounters alongside political intrigue, monster hunting, base building, and naval combat.
