About Daric

Hi, I'm Daric. I'm neurodivergent and LGBTQ+. I've been DMing for 46 years in every D&D edition except 4th. 3.5 is my preferred system. I've been disabled since 2019 and have the time to seriously devote to DMing. I'm based in New Orleans. I run a homebrewed world called Terra that has been running continuously for 26 years. My game combines a story arc with sandbox freedom. I usually run with 3-6 players at the table to allow maximum time in the spotlight for each character. I love DMing for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is watching players bring their creativity to our stories. I am firmly committed to the philosophy of cooperative storytelling. I hope we can craft some exceptional stories together!

How Daric runs games

I run serious, no joke character games with no evil characters allowed. My games are heavy roleplay with a moderate amount of combat. I encourage cooperative roleplay and discourage actions that can disrupt the story; for example, I discourage rogues who try to steal all of the party loot. I try to make every game long-running, with the goal of reaching epic levels.

Rules are...

Rules are there for a reason, including the Rule of Cool and the Prime Directive (have fun). I run mostly RAW, with very few house-rule exceptions.

Daric's ideal table

My ideal table has a more serious vibe, with humor being kept mostly out of character. Because the world is dark fantasy with Grimdark overtones, I limit availability to 18+.
