About Dan the DM Man

Greetings aspiring adventurers! If you are looking for a DM who is organized, prepared, and immersive, then Dan the DM Man is the DM for you! Since I started DMing a year and a half ago, I have accrued over 300 hours of gameplay experience and ran many adventures, including a full campaign (level 1-10) that ran weekly for over a year. Throughout my games, I aim to transport my players to another world with my use of voices, detailed scene descriptions, and customized story elements. I enjoy having new players at my table and will happily work with you to make your first experience with D&D a memorable one. If you are looking for more advanced gameplay, I can also test your mettle with challenging enemies and risky encounters. So whether you are a seasoned veteran or looking to try D&D for the first time, you'll find fun at my table! I primarily offer medium length campaigns, along with some one shots. I’m currently recruiting players for three campaigns beginning soon. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message.

How Dan the DM Man runs games

I think of myself as a "stapler" DM. I use published content as the primary framework for an adventure/campaign and then I edit it and mix in some of my own homebrew content. Usually, the homebrew content is specific to the player characters or it connects to their backstory in some way. This allows me to create individualized playing experiences where the players feel rewarded for their world building efforts! The balance of roleplaying, combat, and exploration depends on what the group prefers and can vary widely in my games. As a scientist by training, I believe in the power of data-driven decisions. That is why I often poll my players to receive feedback about what parts of the game they are enjoying and where there is room for improvement. If you prefer to talk your way out of encounters, then I welcome your creative solutions. If you would rather fight every monster in the dungeon, that's great too! It just helps if I know in advance what you prefer so I can tailor the game accordingly.
