About me
Greetings aspiring adventurers! If you are looking for a DM who is organized, prepared, and immersive, then Dan the DM Man is the DM for you! Since I started DMing a year and a half ago, I have accrued over 300 hours of gameplay experience and ran many adventures, including a full campaign (level 1-10) that ran weekly for over a year. Throughout my games, I aim to transport my players to another world with my use of voices, detailed scene descriptions, and customized story elements. I enjoy having new players at my table and will happily work with you to make your first experience with D&D a memorable one. If you are looking for more advanced gameplay, I can also test your mettle with challenging enemies and risky encounters. So whether you are a seasoned veteran or looking to try D&D for the first time, you'll find fun at my table! I primarily offer medium length campaigns, along with some one shots. I’m currently recruiting players for three campaigns beginning soon. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message.
GM Style
I think of myself as a "stapler" DM. I use published content as the primary framework for an adventure/campaign and then I edit it and mix in some of my own homebrew content. Usually, the homebrew content is specific to the player characters or it connects to their backstory in some way. This allows me to create individualized playing experiences where the players feel rewarded for their world building efforts! The balance of roleplaying, combat, and exploration depends on what the group prefers and can vary widely in my games. As a scientist by training, I believe in the power of data-driven decisions. That is why I often poll my players to receive feedback about what parts of the game they are enjoying and where there is room for improvement. If you prefer to talk your way out of encounters, then I welcome your creative solutions. If you would rather fight every monster in the dungeon, that's great too! It just helps if I know in advance what you prefer so I can tailor the game accordingly.

Dan was awesome and we had so much fun playing! My Air Genasi Monk pole vaulted like a champ and Dan allowed me the space and opportunity for some amazing moves! I would highly recommend Dan to new players and veterans, he’s very understanding and patient about action economy and teaching those with less experience. I found I was learning things too so happy I picked up this game! Have a blast at Dan’s table, you deserve it!
I first experienced Dan as a fellow party member and later as a DM for a long form campaign. 50+ sessions later I can truly say, if you are in need of a DM look no further. No other has come close to the level of detail and creativity as Dan the DM Man. Being beginner friendly, he knows the rules well and will make each session enjoyable. He will also work with you if you have something cool/interesting you want to do. Dan is a terrific storyteller and forges a narrative both intriguing and compelling with a delivery that is unmistakable as well as unforgettable. For instance, my character’s backstory culminated into an epic duel for the lives of my character’s infant children, an encounter that I will not forget. At the end of the day, I am happy to say I sat at his table and played through his adventures as I would take none of that time back.
I got the opportunity to join Dan's table for a one-shot adventure called The Modron Maze. You really can't beat Dan's mix of fun, knowledge of rules, and creativity. He has a knack for really listening for what you want to do and then helping you build awesome encounters that feel locked in with the characters while still being challenging. I was playing a very self-serious Githyanki paladin as we made our way through this goofy Portal-esque facility that by any accounts should have felt paradoxical. But he was able to easily on the fly blend the tones of the setting with our characters' with almost no prior knowledge. No matter what, you're going to have fun at Dan's table.
Three tags is not enough! Dan picked an awesome quest line for our group of mostly beginners to play. Led us through our character creations and gave great feedback about game mechanics that would affect our players. His storytelling is fun, immersive and kept us on our toes! He follows the game rules fairly but is open to player creativity if you can reason why your idea works within the confines of the game. Dan gives enough direction to keep the game going but lets the group make their own adventure. He also uses digital visuals and maps if you play online, which were really helpful to keep track of what was happening while playing. Overall I had an awesome time with Dan the DM man!
