About me
Hi! I'm Dan and I'm a Dungeon Master and I have been for about 5 years. I love running games in crazy, inventive worlds, usually based on two or three ideas combined together. Some of my favorites that I've run are: Blood Moon - A group of white blood cells prepare to defend against allergens, scrapes and maybe some intoxication as their host body treks through the woods on the way to his bachelor party. What they aren't prepared for is to fend off infection from a werewolf bite. Can this immune system cure itself of a werewolf virus before the full moon? City of Sin - Set in the real world Las Vegas, a city built over a gate to hell. Mortals come to make deals with devils for fortunes, without realizing that when you make a deal with your soul in Vegas, it stays in Vegas. Players join a secret government agency to maintain the strenuous peace between humans, devils and demons. Meatheads Gym of Buffness and Weightlifting - In a world filled with magic, most people have allowed their physical bodies to shrivel away and become frail little weaklings. However, some children are born without magic, therefore able to get buff and jacked AF. The Meatheads are taken away to a secret weightlifting boarding school where many secrets and hijinks await, including the possible return of long dead muscle wizard, Lord Swoldemort. I love creating fun, unique worlds for fun, unique characters. Whether you're new to the game or experienced and looking for something fresh, you are welcome to my table!
GM Style
An engaging, collaborative story is just as important to me as crunchy combat. That said, I'm not opposed to a little bit of Rule of Cool when needed if it serves the story. I have a background in theater and improv and my games usually have more of a humorous bent to them. I like doing voices for NPCs, but can never replicate a voice week to week. I tend to run homebrew campaigns over published adventures. I've taken a lot of inspiration from the show Dimension 20 which usually will mash two genres together or flip a genre on it's head. I usually approach this by combining two movies for my campaigns and giving them a punny titles. Some examples are Saw+Willy Wonka=Jawbreaker; The Shining+Ocean's Eleven=Poulterheist; The Purge+Groundhog Day=Purge-atory. My games tend to be about 45% RP, 50% combat and 5% puzzles/ exploration.
