About Daniel L
Hello everyone! I've been a GM for about 7 years now, running games for both official D&D modules as well my own TTRPG system that's been in the works for just as long. I'm very relaxed and willing to indulge in all sorts of character nonsense. If you can give me some proper notice, I'll allow just about any ideas into my games, as nothing brings me more joy than seeing players make their dreams a reality. My favorite part of games like these is that they're imaginative, so the only real limit is your imagination! With my games, I am completely confident with that claim. I've ran more than 1,000 games over the past 7 years and I welcome players of all backgrounds to my tables. I've taught the rules to dozens of players, and I'm more than happy to help any newcomers learn the ropes of TTRPGs in whichever way I can. Having worked plenty of times with both adults and kids alike, I'm very attentive when it comes to communication and am always open and available to discuss anything when it comes to the game, whether that be character building, rule clarification, or even just general chat. If you'd like to learn more about the Horrors and Hellscapes project or would like to see some active beta-testing of it, please use the links below! : Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/VirulentGames Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/convulse751 In all of my games, Sessions 0 and 1 are free!

I became a GM because
I started GMing because I love spending time with friends, and writing and story telling has always been a joy for me. I love to create interesting narratives and explore cool game design options, the math is fun. At my house, Boardgames are king!
When I'm not running games I'm...
working on my ttrpg system! It's been a passion project of mine for a long time now and I absolutely adore it. If not that, I love to play strategy and co-op games with friends. I also play cello!
How Daniel L runs games
With my games, my goal is to bring an exciting and memorable experience for all players involved, and to provide a safe and fun environment where everyone can be free to express themselves without any worry of embarrassment or social pressure. Games are meant to be fun, and that will always be my top priority. Currently, I am able to run games for various Wizards of the Coast modules for D&D, being Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, Dragon of Icespire Peak, Tomb of Annihilation, Curse of Strahd, Candlekeep Mysteries, Descent into Avernus, and Dragon Delves. I'm also happy to run any other modules, but I would need to have at least a week or so to prepare. Along with this, there is a Homebrew world and Game system that I've been toiling away at for about as long as I've been a GM. This new system, which I've dubbed Horrors and Hellscapes, works very similarly to other TTRPGs like D&D and prioritizes creative freedom above all else. It's this system that I primarily use in my games, and all of my players who have tried it say that it's some of the most fun they've ever had. If you have anything you'd like to ask of me, please shoot me a message!

My games focus on...
My games focus a lot on my players, and I'm happy to twist or even restructure existing storylines to help my players feel like their lives and stories matter in the world, if that's something they're looking for. I also pride myself on efficient and exciting combat that brings a thrill unlike any o
Rules are...
I'm happy to allow homebrew content, no matter how unorthodox or outlandish it may be. My only requirement for homebrew content is that the player is willing to compromise with it if I feel something may be too unbalanced or overpowered. Regardless, I do my best to keep the spirit or fantasy of any
Daniel L's ideal table
My tables are always an open space where players can feel free to be themselves. My games focus a lot on creative freedom and freedom of expression, and I encourage my players to play as anything they can think of. Imagination reigns at my games, so players with active imaginations and a love for wacky ideas will have a wonderful time with me. Shenanigans aside, I also really love to create dark and serious atmospheres when the time calls for it, as horror is by far my favorite genre. If you want to experience some grisly games of death and carnage, followed by some lighthearted jokes, I'm your guy!

I love it when a player
I love it when my players let their imaginations run wild and find a fun concept or character idea they really like, and run with it. I'm a firm believer that imaginative spaces are the pinnacle of creative gameplay, and encourage it at all times!
My perfect party mix is
Anything! The classic group of party members is always a fun time, but unorthodox or imbalanced parties are also a joy to run. I've ran games with all spell casters, all martials, even all sentient toasters. Above all, I love parties that enjoy playing games with each other. :)
