About Martin Viles
He/Him-20 Decently Experienced with a few long campaigns (+20 sessions) under my belt. I'm largely most interested in problem solving/roleplaying, and often like to use novel mechanics (like board games) to create scenarios. I have my own custom world set around the 1800's, that's been filled with all sorts of tibbits and stories I've also been working on my own ttrpg system, it's a rules light, card based system that focuses primarily on making use of, editing, and creating new cards. I'm still working on it though, once it's ready I'll add the "how to play" to this profile and if people are interested we can try playing it Also I really like board games lol Worldbuilding: One of the first lessons taught to children, right when they are able to understand the words of their parents, is when the time comes, when it is time to die, they should let go. Up to that point they should fight with all their might of course, but once death grasps your soul you shouldn't hold on, just let your body turn to snow as your soul drifts away While growing up it's not too uncommon to see those touched by death. Each wound is different, one the flaking remains of what used to be an arm, another a black hole burred into their chest, which puffs out fumes of ash with every breath. Perhaps it was heroism or pure greed that made them hold onto life, but in the end all the remains is that dead look in their eyes, their soul long burned away. (Also, burned soul ash is used for gunpowder :D)

How Martin Viles runs games
So first and foremost, I'm flexible, if you've got a good reason for really anything I'm all for it. I like experimenting with new ideas, and if you do the same as a player I will like you very much. This also extends to if there is something you need I will do my best to provide it. For example, if my style isn't working for you I'll try to help you better understand it and adapt it towards what you need. I describe my style best as an advocacy style, I as the DM advocate for the story of the world and you the players advocate for the story of your character, the game for you then is finding how I can give you the narrative you want. You may want to tell the tale of a quiet farm boy who slayed a dragon, but the dragon is mighty and your resources are little. I'll give you plenty of opportunities and tools in the world, but you need to tell me how I can let you slay a dragon despite all the barriers to that that exist in this world. I can be flexible on this of course, my goal first and for most is to make sure you have a good time, but this is my ideal as a DM Other then that, lots of homebrew, as much drama as I can, and really whatever I see making the players happy. And maybe a board game if I can shoehorn one in
