About Cameron Corbett

I’m a Glasgow-based GM with a love for grim science fiction, horror, and stories where the company handbook is thicker than the emergency procedures. I mainly run ALIEN RPG cinematic scenarios using pre-written adventures and pre-generated characters, with the focus on atmosphere, tension, paranoia, and watching a perfectly sensible plan collapse into an incident report. I use Foundry VTT, and I’m happy to teach the system as we go. If you enjoy cinematic horror, dark humour, desperate decisions, and discovering exactly how much worse things can get, you’ll fit right in.

I started running games because...

There was no one available to do it so i had to fill that space and have done ever since

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Menace, chaotic, Nilbog

When I'm not running games I'm...

I'm either working on my dissertation(feel free to ask i can talk all day about it!) or I'm working on a commission for my additive manufacturing business i own. If i have actual free time I'll either be chilling to music or reading

How Cameron Corbett runs games

I’m a very atmosphere-first GM. I like strong scene-setting, memorable NPCs, good pacing, and giving players enough space to actually inhabit their characters rather than constantly being pushed towards the next plot point. I’m happy to improvise when players go sideways, and I’d much rather adapt around a clever, ridiculous, or catastrophically bad decision than force things back onto rails. I tend to run with a mix of serious tension and very dry, dark humour. I give everyone room in the spotlight, encourage roleplay without demanding amateur theatre, and try to keep the table moving without getting bogged down in endless rules debates. I’m patient with new players, clear about expectations, and big on making sure everyone gets to contribute. My favourite sessions are the ones where players leave talking about what they did, not what the GM told them happened.

My favorite trope is...

have surprises behind the least expected door

My games focus on...

My games focus on atmosphere, character choices, and giving players room to shape their story with tense moments, dark humour, and enough freedom for good ideas, bad ideas, and spectacularly bad ideas that all matter.

Rules are...

I have three simple rules in my camapaigns I do not under any sections include anything sexual in my campaigns thou shalt not harm children let me know if something may be a trigger for you beforehand so I don't cause emotional distress

Cameron Corbett's ideal table

My table runs fast, loose, and with extreme nilboggery. I care more about momentum, character decisions, and keeping the game alive than stopping every five minutes to litigate a rule. FAFO is treated almost like a religious principle. If you poke the cursed object, insult the warlord, split the party, open the obviously sealed door, or press the glowing button marked DO NOT PRESS, I am not here to stop you. I am here to faithfully explore the consequences. I like players who commit to the bit, share the spotlight, embrace chaos, and understand that ridiculous decisions are welcome, provided you are also willing to own what comes next. Expect quick rulings, improvisation, dark humour, bad ideas, worse ideas, and the occasional moment where the whole table has to sit quietly and admire the crater.

I am for a vibe that's...

I aim for a table that feels lively, unpredictable, and easy to settle into. People should feel comfortable throwing themselves into scenes, trying bold ideas, laughing at disasters, and enjoying the company as much as the adventure.

I love it when a player

commits fully to the roll of the party fool with all the disastrous consequences

My table is not the place for...

My table is not the place for rules-lawyering, spotlight hogging, sulking when the dice bite back, or treating other players like NPCs in your personal story. Bring opinions, bring nonsense, bring terrible plans. Just don’t bring main-character syndrome.
