About Sysafey
I’m a Canadian farmer, longtime storyteller, and Dungeon Master who loves building immersive worlds where player choices genuinely matter. Away from the table, I work a hands-on life in farming, which has given me a practical, grounded approach to problem-solving—and that carries directly into the way I run D&D. I like giving players real situations, meaningful choices, and the freedom to come up with solutions I never expected. As a DM, I specialize in dark fantasy, horror, exploration, cinematic combat, and heavily customized worlds. My games feature original monsters, magic items, factions, locations, maps, and encounter mechanics, while still keeping the focus firmly on the player characters and their stories. I put a lot of preparation into every session because I want the world to feel alive rather than like a series of disconnected encounters. Expect dangerous adventures, strange discoveries, memorable NPCs, tactical fights, and plenty of opportunities to completely derail whatever I thought was going to happen. Whether you’re an experienced player or sitting down at a D&D table for the first time, my goal is to give you a game you’ll still be talking about after the session ends.

How Sysafey runs games
My GM style leans heavily into dark fantasy mixed with strange science fiction, ancient technology, cosmic horror, and worlds that feel beautiful, dangerous, and slightly wrong. I like campaigns where ruined cities, impossible machines, forgotten gods, mutated creatures, alien forces, and old magic can all exist beside traditional fantasy without feeling separate from each other. The world is meant to feel mysterious, and I prefer players to discover what things are through play rather than having every answer explained to them immediately. I run a reactive game where exploration matters, choices have consequences, and there is rarely only one correct way through a situation. Combat is often cinematic and dangerous, but just as much attention goes into atmosphere, discovery, strange locations, and the feeling that something much larger is happening beneath the surface. My goal is to make the campaign feel like a dark fantasy adventure that slowly opens into something stranger, bigger, and more unpredictable the deeper the players go.
Sysafey's ideal table
My table is relaxed, friendly, and focused on having a good time while still taking the story seriously. Players who enjoy roleplay, exploration, creative problem-solving, and tactical combat will fit in well. You don’t need to be an expert or know every rule—new and experienced players are both welcome. I like players who work with the group, give others room to shine, and get invested in the world and their characters. There’s plenty of joking around at the table, but when the story gets serious, we lean into it.
