About Malek

I am currently a 20 year old University student who started playing D&D through DM’ing some sessions for my friends that never truly reached the conclusion of a campaign due to scheduling troubles ( a common tragedy I know) but recently with having more of a “regular schedule” nowadays I’ve been able to run some semi regular sessions for other strangers I found through the different nooks and crannies of the internet all in a Homebrew world of my own! Experience wise I’d say I have a solid amount of experience to not be considered a “Baby DM” anymore but I’m still always learning new things every day and plan to continue doing so! I love the creative and social aspects of TTRPGs and so I wanted to use this place as a way of meeting and interacting with new people from all over!

Featured Prompts

I ran my first game...

It was a lost mines of phandelver campaign that ended up doomed to scheduling 💔

I started running games because...

I wanted to do something creative with my free time but also unrestricted so I landed on running TTRPGs!

When I'm not running games I'm...

Studying profusely for medical exams 😭

How Malek runs games

I love making different types of combat encounters to challenge players along with enough settings and puzzles to make each session have its own memorable moments. Points I’m actively trying to improve on are creating memorable NPCs and cities!

I prep by

Thinking of some scenarios that each player's character could thrive in and then finding a way to link all the loose pieces together!

My favorite trope is...

The puppet master behind the scenes that only has a few clues pointing to them

Rules are...

A necessity to both apply and be flexible with, "rule of cool" is definitely the most important one haha

Malek's ideal table

I like to have a table where everyone is comfortable with both silly and serious moments, I believe that drama and comedy both have an equal part at the table and that every player deserves their moment to shine especially if they're shy at first to give them a chance to open up!

I love it when a player

Creates a plan I never could have thought of while prepping that prompts me to expand on it even more for the next few sessions

I think it's a red flag when players...

Takes control of the table by trying to force home rules they played with in the past without consulting anybody else

I think min/maxing...

Is a style of play like any other, if the party is okay with it there's no reason for me to block someone from being able to do it as long as its not at anyone else's expense
