About Meppa

So for 8 years now i've ran a dnd 5e game either as a dm or as a player. I've personally run Curse of strahd being my first ever module and full experience dming and i've also run more complex such as Storm Kings Thunder, Wild beyond the Witchlight, The full Tiamat books and a few Homebrew. I'm LGBTQIA+ friendly and very Anti-A.I but looking to possibly teach new dnd players with a handfull of homebrew rules to help ease people in.

I ran my first game...

Back in i think 2018 i ran Curse of Strahd for 5 friends and man did i make some mistakes. Besides basic rules I had a horrible rule for nat 1 where you target the players or equipment breaks and spells can backfire which i regret.

Playing games and watching shows/Movies. Otherwise I'm talking with friends.

How Meppa runs games

I like to try and meld with my group and i will try to incorporate their play styles into the session. If a group prefers more role play to combat or vise versa I'm able to work with them. Now my specialty would still be role play and i've always been good with multi tasking characters motivations to the campaign. I'm also a big fan of what you can do the Npc's can do too with the consent of the party.

I prep by

setting up at least 2 or 3 chapters in advance before play for modules or for homebrew i will prep things in arcs and try to set up or adlib appropriately.

My favorite trope is...

The good villian. Someone who is doing evil for a cause and while you may understand him he needs to be stopped.

When it comes to voices

I use mainly 4 voices to try and set up characters though i try unique ones for bosses.

I guess a group that can get over little issue and don't obsess over mistakes or character choices that works for the moment.

I think metagaming...

is unstoppable. Most experienced players know what a Beholders eye might do or even an inexperienced knows to avoid a vampires bite so i try to limit it. Though if a player knows where the BBEG keeps his magic items in the first session i will put a stop to it.

Is okay if the entire party does it. Then it allows me to set up and challenge the players in both combat and rp on an equal level.
