About Alsanna

Hi all my name is Alsanna, I have been playing DnD for the last 2 years off and on as a player, but recently have been running small one-shots and short campaigns for my small group of friends as their Dungeon Master. I would consider myself still new to the world of Dungeons and Dragons but am eager to share my creativity and love for this game with others! I enjoy drawing, playing games such as World of Warcraft and Path of Exile, and am a freelance graphic designer :).

How Alsanna runs games

My favorite type of game is one where there is ample time to roleplay and explore the world, crafting silly ways to solve problems player characters would based on their personality. This coupled with high stakes combat I think really flesh out the world and let players enjoy whatever aspect speaks to them the most. I enjoy allowing players to craft their own stories, I provide the groundworks for a game but encourage players to find their niche and roll with it. Tailoring games to what players enjoy is what makes it fun for all of us!

My games focus on...

Exploration, combat, storytelling, and roleplaying. I encourage everyone to be themselves and contribute to the session as little or as much as they would like.

Rules are...

Meant to be followed, but not to the ends of the earth. This is a game, not a job or doing your taxes. If something doesn't go exactly how the rules state, that is okay. I might mess up, you might mess up, we are all good.

When it comes to voices

I use an external application that helps modify my voice to the custom NPCs created! I have used it in the past and most people really enjoy the differentiated sound of the NPCs.

Alsanna's ideal table

My table is semi-serious, always starts out in a serious manner with mature themes within fantasy, this usually carries on throughout one of my games but there still is ample room for having a laugh and doing something silly. I do not take myself as well as my games too seriously in reference to a strict regimen. With that being said I encourage players to explore and make the sessions fun in whatever way they see fit, I am just here to provide the skeleton of their experience.

I love it when a player

Describes how or what they do during an attack, I want to hear the creative and ridiculous ways a player envisions their character does something. Explore and innovate, it is all about fun so if you want to try something, do it!

I think min/maxing...

Can be fun if that is what you are into, but I am more interested in having a fun and balanced game for everyone. Feel free to min/max your character all you like, as long as you do not drag others (unless willing) into your min/max ideas.

My table is not the place for...

Harassment, Sexism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, and in general being rude to others at the table. They are spending their time here as well and I expect all to treat each other with respect, any sort of belittlement, personal attacks, or person to person conflict is not tolerated. Safe space.
