About Steve

Hi, I’m Steve! I run character-driven campaigns for players who want their choices, backstories, and wild ideas to matter. My table is best for players who enjoy collaborative storytelling, meaningful roleplay, dramatic character moments, and a world that responds to what the party does. I especially enjoy helping newer players feel comfortable while giving experienced players room to dig into deeper character arcs, difficult choices, and memorable spotlight moments. I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs since 2006, beginning with World of Darkness before running a long-form Vampire: The Masquerade chronicle of my own. Since then, I’ve spent years building stories through screenplays, short fiction, video game concepts, songs, and tabletop campaigns. I also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing for Media from Full Sail University, which has strongly shaped how I build NPCs, factions, conflicts, and emotional payoffs at the table. As a GM, I focus on patience, immersion, and player investment. I like distinct NPCs, strong character motivations, evolving storylines, and moments where each player gets to feel important. I listen before making rulings, but I also keep the game moving so the table stays focused and fun. If you want a campaign where your character is more than a stat block, your choices have consequences, and the story is built with the players rather than simply performed at them, you’ll probably feel right at home at my table!

How Steve runs games

My Game Master style is immersive, character-focused, and collaborative. I love creating worlds that feel alive by filling them with NPCs who have distinct personalities, goals, fears, loyalties, and flaws. Whether the party is negotiating with a noble, questioning a nervous guard, angering a crime boss, or helping a stranger on the road, I want the people of the world to feel like more than quest markers. I treat combat the same way. Monsters and enemies do not exist only as hit points and armor class. They fight according to instincts, training, intelligence, motives, and fear. A desperate bandit, a disciplined soldier, a hungry beast, and a scheming villain should all feel different at the table. For rules, I usually stay close to the Rules as Written. When optional or variant rules come up, I discuss them with my players before using them so the table stays fair, clear, and consistent. My goal is for every player to feel like their character belongs in the world and has a real effect on what happens next.
