About Brian
Hello, my name is Brian. I have been playing/game mastering Dungeons and Dragons for over 35 years. From the AD&D to 5e I have played and ran them all. I currently host a weekly live game at my house. I am a father of two boys, which I play D&D with often. I enjoy making custom monsters, magical items and feats to make my games unique and the players characters one of a kind.

I got started GMing...
when I was in 10 years old. I would watch my older brother and his friends play AD&D in the 80's and really want to have a group of friends that played. So I grabbed an old adventure that my brother had already run thru, got three of my friends to play and that was it.
My favorite books are
Lord of the Rings, Stormlight Archive, Dragonlance
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing board and video games. I have way to much time into playing Pillars of Eternity. I also loving camping and hiking with my family.
How Brian runs games
My GM style is one of improvised story and rule of cool. The players lead the story and I provide the world. I love to craft unique monsters and have dynamic combat.

My favorite trope is...
1) Schrödinger's Suggestion Box: Players customizing abilities with the GM's permission. 2) Off the Rails: When players force the campaign off of its intended course.
My games focus on...
Exploration in dramatic landscapes and Combat with unique monsters.
Rules are...
use to help bring structure but should never get in the way of the fun or story.
Brian's ideal table
My table is for players that like to drive the action forward with character goals, have challenging dynamic combats and explore fantastic locations. Exploration and combat are the focus of my games.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
dungeon crawling, killing monsters and a laid back but well paced game.
I love it when a player
uses dynamic moves in combat. Tripping, disarming, using unconventional weapons or tactics to defeat foes.
I think it's a red flag when players...
tell other players how to play their characters.
