How Ivar Sorrows runs games
Welcome, adventurer. I’m Ivar, a professional Dungeon Master and voice actor, which means I’ve somehow convinced people to pay me to do funny voices and emotionally devastate them in equal measure. My campaigns are like a prestige TV show — if HBO were run by a bunch of gremlins with d20s. Expect dramatic monologues, suspiciously detailed worldbuilding, and the occasional goblin who sounds like he’s been chain-smoking since the Second Age. Every session balances cinematic storytelling, chaotic problem-solving, and heartfelt roleplay. I create worlds that feel alive — the kind of places you’ll cry about later because the NPC you befriended was, in fact, a tragic metaphor for capitalism. I’m formally trained at East 15 Acting School, which mostly means I can do a surprisingly wide range of villain laughs and know how to make you care about a tavern keeper. My games are inclusive, character-driven, and occasionally unhinged — perfect for both new players and veteran dice addicts. Players have called my tables “a fantasy home away from home” and “a safe space to make bad decisions with friends.” And honestly? That’s the vibe.
Ivar Sorrows's ideal table
A table is about a group and its dynamics, and each one I find has it's own unique feel and play style. However, for me so long as a table are feeling engaged in the story, and enjoying the game I am happy.

I love it when a player
Takes the lead in an interaction, as DM it's a joy to watch the players letting loose.
I think metagaming...
I think Metagaming is often demonised, and if used to break the game obviously to be avoided. But often, a little meta-peak throught he curtain to smooth the game over isnt a issue.
