About Ripley

Hiya! I'm Ripley, a trans gamer girl who absolutely loves Dungeons and Dragons!! (and the game too) I've been DMing for a group of friends for a over a year now, and have been playing on and off a few years longer! I've built some small homebrew stories, though I have mostly played through the starter campaigns. I'd love to bring these experiences to the table and find out where adventure takes you! I've been obsessed with DND since I started listening to The Adventure Zone podcast years ago, and have kept up with it as well as other live play series, including Dimension 20, of course! I also stream myself playing video games for Twitch! I'd be happy to stream a DND game one day, but I am more than willing to have our games be private sessions! Overall, I love to have fun in fantasy worlds, and let my party lead me while I leave breadcrumb trails for them to discover and follow. If you're a beginner player, I think I'd be perfect for you, as I'm still learning many specific rules myself, and I know as I keep DMing for my home table and tables on this site that I will keep getting better and we will grow together!!

How Ripley runs games

I personally love a bit of everything! I love to let my players decide what they want in a game, and then I lean that way! I personally really enjoy getting into combat to utilize all the amazing spells and scenarios DND has to offer, but I also am obsessed with the ways my players find ways to connect to characters! I've run games where I set up a nice friendly character who as far as I'm aware is just a chill guy, but as my players got suspicious of him, I realised they would love it if he was secretly malicious, so I started leaving little clues about him as if he was actually a bad guy, and I really let my players take the lead in discovering more things! In the end, whether or not he was a bad guy was up in the air completely based on what would be funniest or the most fun for my players, and they might have even decided that he was mischievous, and that they should in fact join him!
