About Redwendigo

Hey everyone! I go by RedWendigo or Red when GMing; I started goofing around with table top roleplays in middle school back during DnD 3.5. I gradually found myself drawn to the GM seat in high school, running Eclipse Phase and other systems my friends and I discovered along the way. Ended up being the forever GM for my community college friends and other interested in playing that were found online. I have made many friends as a GM offering my storytelling skills to those interested in creating a cooperative narrative. The settings I’ve explored in my games span a wide range: light fantasy, brutal fantasy, survival fantasy, horror, adventure, political and social intrigue, and even in-system political drama. Currently a returning student in my last year to finish up my degree.

How Redwendigo runs games

As a gm, I love when my players roleplay and take on the personas of the character it makes gameplay exciting and engaging. Encounters can become intense, and mistakes carry real consequences. Of course, not every situation is high-stakes. I’ve run games across a wide variety of settings and themes, including light fantasy, brutal fantasy, survival fantasy, horror, adventure fantasy, sci-fi, political intrigue, social intrigue, in-system politics, and more. Due to the nature of this platform, some settings will likely be advertised alongside the game I’m offering to run. However, these themes are always open for discussion. I'm happy to customize games to suit the comfort levels of the players. I understand that certain topics or settings can be uncomfortable, and I make sincere efforts to create an environment that is both engaging and respectful, without causing emotional distress. For example if I a post a Horror campaign with themes listed as; body horror, gore, violence, insects, and psychological horror. If there is a theme that bothers you let but the game interests you let me know. I will happily make adjustments. As a GM I am also more than happy to help players express and develop their characters stories in game as the campaign goes on. I am also willing to work with players out of session to come up with more things for them in session. Player input and feedback are always welcome—I believe there's always room to improve.

I once ran a session...

A player triggered a 3-faction war by sending incriminating faction info over what they thought was a secure link. The peace summit collapsed, and all sides declared war over exposed secrets and failed diplomacy.

Rules are...

Guidelines and ways to keep things fair. They can be expanded upon or simplified to keep the game enjoyable and fun. After running many different systems have even adapted rules from other systems into the one I am running.

I love it when a player

I love when players feel comfortable enough to be their character and immerse themself in the story.

I think it's a red flag when players...

Say or do things at the table without care of how it will negatively impact others. This can encompass in game or out of game. If these acts are purposively done to cause problems and be disruptive that is worse.
