About Jake
I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for about 25 years and GMing for 15. I’ve run lots of different games over the years, but some of my favorites to run are Vampire: The Masquerade, Shadowrun, Blades in the Dark, Avatar Legends and the Stargate RPG. I really enjoy crafting stories that keep players hooked and making sure everyone has a great time at the table.

I became a GM because
When my group’s first forever GM moved away, someone had to step up—so I did. Before long, I realized I didn’t just enjoy it… I loved it.
How Jake runs games
I create immersive worlds where players are truly free to make their own choices. Depending on the game, the story might be more linear or open-world, but no matter what, the players’ decisions always drive the narrative. I prepare multiple possible paths but love leaning into the improv side of GMing to adapt to unexpected player moves and keep things fresh. The style varies with the game—sometimes it’s tactical and intense, other times more about exploration or roleplay—but my goal is always to create moments players will remember. While I appreciate character backstories for flavor, I prefer to focus on the characters’ futures and the adventures ahead, making sure every session pushes their stories forward in meaningful ways.
Jake's ideal table
My table is welcoming, collaborative, and player-focused. I create immersive worlds and give players the freedom to explore them, with their choices driving the story forward. Depending on the game, we might lean toward open-world exploration or a more guided plot, but either way, everyone gets opportunities for memorable moments. Players who enjoy engaging with the world, making meaningful decisions, and working with others will fit in well. You don’t need to be an expert in the system—just bring your creativity, curiosity, and willingness to be part of a shared story. The general vibe at my table is friendly, flexible, and story-driven. We mix in action, intrigue, and roleplay, and I adapt to the group’s style to make sure everyone is having a great time.
