About Andrew

Greetings and Salutations! Describing myself via a character sheet would be best summarized as a level 1 human whose dump stats are strength, but dexterity and wisdom are good; intelligence and charisma are average though. Getting to the real stuff though about my tabletop game abilities. I have been playing tabletop games for about eight years and running table games as a dungeon master for about five. Most of my experience has been playing Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition while I have experience playing one-shots of various table-tops with different rule sets.

How Andrew runs games

My belief in TTRPGs is to follow the "roll of cool" (get the pun?). What I like to do is allow players to take the initiative to try and solve the problems in the fantasy world by any means necessary and I won't shoot down their ideas (unless it is something completely, utterly insane or inappropriate). For the sessions I run, I encourage roleplaying, I even reward good party interaction/roleplaying with a DM inspiration die to the players for their creative playing. Of course, not all solutions will solve all problems, but I will never stop a player from trying their idea. However, players need to be aware that all their decisions will have consequences, be it good or bad. The bad can lead to deadly combat that can be almost unforgiving. So rogues, think twice before you steal something! I generally keep combat balanced, but there are times where combat stakes get raised because either plot or someone messed with the wrong NPC (or again, consequences from earlier decisions in a campaign). My goal at the end though is not to make the game a slog or punishing, but fun and enjoyable and match the mood of the table to the best I can.
