About Trevin H.

Veteran DM with 500+ hours behind the screen, crafting D&D tales that put your choices front and center. I love building worlds where brutal bosses test your mettle, player agency drives the plot, and every failure carves a flavorful scar—because real heroes earn their legends the hard way. Expect: Deep theater-of-the-mind immersion with custom maps for big moments, balanced encounters that reward clever builds, and no railroading in sight. Sessions fly by in 3-4 hours of high-energy collaborative storytelling, milestone leveling, and homebrew tweaks to spotlight your wild ideas. Voice acting's my jam—gravelly villains, accented NPCs, and epic soundtracks for ambiance. From my tables: Parties have toppled lich kings in frozen citadels, clawed through undead apocalypses, and ignited campaign-spanning romances that no one saw coming. Whether you're a rules-savvy vet or a fresh adventurer, join for adrenaline-packed one-shots or ongoing epics where victories feel earned. Aspiring to craft unforgettable nights for all. Let's roll some dice and make magic.

I became a GM because

I became a DM because I spent years struggling to find a group, so I built my own. It gave me a place to share the ideas I’d been carrying around and turned into a creative outlet where I could finally bring my worlds to life.

My favorite books are

High fantasy that mixes grounded, everyday life with big mythic storytelling.

My favorite system of all Time is

Definitely 2.5—the system I started on and the one that hooked me for good.

How Trevin H. runs games

I run immersive, player-focused campaigns that combine rich storytelling, tactical combat, and dynamic worldbuilding. My games take place on Foundry VTT with voice and video on Discord, complete with ambient music, sound effects, and fully voiced NPCs to bring the world to life. I focus on giving players meaningful choices, whether in exploration, roleplay, or combat. Encounters can range from fast-paced and cinematic to gritty, tactical battles against intelligent enemies, keeping players on their toes. I usually follow the rules as written but value creativity and clever solutions, and I’m open to bending mechanics when it enhances the story. Players can expect a reactive, living world filled with distinct societies, environments, and secrets. I enjoy rewarding curiosity, strategy, and inventive problem-solving, creating sessions that feel immersive, memorable, and uniquely tailored to the group.

I once ran a session...

I once ran a session where every PC died in a blaze of dragon fire—and the players still wanted more. That moment pushed me into becoming a Dungeon Master for good.

Rules are...

Rules exist for a reason. Without them, you’re not playing a game—you’re just writing a story about your character.

When it comes to voices

I work to keep every character’s voice distinct and consistent. It was one of my biggest focuses when I first started DMing, and it’s still something I actively practice and refine.

Trevin H.'s ideal table

My ideal table is made up of players who are curious, creative, and engaged. I like people who think critically about challenges, enjoy exploring the world and its systems, and are willing to take risks for interesting outcomes. A sense of humor and a willingness to lean into chaos when it makes the story better are huge pluses. I appreciate players who communicate clearly, are cooperative but not afraid to challenge ideas, and bring their characters to life in ways that make the table feel dynamic and immersive. Above all, I like a table that’s collaborative, thoughtful, and ready to dive into a world where choices matter.

I love it when a player

I love it when a player stays fully engaged, leans in with great questions when something’s unclear, and always knows what’s going on—so we never hit that awkward “What do you do?” … “Uh… I don’t know what’s happening” moment. It keeps the energy high and the story flowing fast!

I think metagaming...

I think metagaming kills immersion. At my table we keep it in-world: first slip gets a friendly warning, second earns your character a nasty headache (psychic damage scaled to the offense). Want to share info? Do it in character on your turn—no table talk shortcuts. Keeps everyone deep in the story!

I think min/maxing...

I think min/maxing is a perfectly valid strategy! In D&D, failure is as vital as success—being a god in one thing but trash at others makes characters realistic, vulnerable, and thrilling to play. Flaws fuel the best stories!
