About Nathaniel
Hi! I'm Nate. I'm a long time GM. I've got experience running D&D 5ed and Blades in the Dark games for the last several years. I love running both pre-made campaigns and my own homebrew setting games. I pride myself on providing good deep interconnected stories with a good mix of roleplay and adventure.

I became a GM because
I am a collaborative storyteller at heart. I love sharing worlds with my players and seeing what they do inside them.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
D&D 5th Ed Blades in the Dark Vampire: The maskerade
My favorite books are
The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson
How Nathaniel runs games
I love interesting and varied character-centric roleplaying. I like to make combat challenging but fair for my players. I employ the rule of cool. If you want to do something cool I'm game as long as it's not completely immersion-breaking and fits the setting.

Rules are...
A good guideline, but shouldn't get in the way of player enjoyment.
When it comes to voices
A love a good bit of voice work to help my characters come to light.
Nathaniel's ideal table
My table is a pretty good mix of roleplay and combat. I'd say I maybe lean slightly more to roleplay and storytelling (maybe around 60% roleplay & 40% combat). I like challenging but fair combat (think normal or hard mode, but not dark souls hard).
Featured Prompts
I love it when a player
Wants to interact and get to know the characters I portray, and enjoys my worldbuilding.
I think metagaming...
Should generally be avoided if possible, as it can remove you from the atmosphere of the game. That said questions about rules, clarification etc outside of character are always welcome!
